Mine is always fueled, never know when I need to burn shit...

But to answer your question no. You're entitled to your opinion but my experience with my local GW hasn't been bad but I've never played Tabletop and the only reason I paint Chaos stuff is because I like Chaos. Only reason I decided on painting Word Bearers was because I read some Word Bearers stuff at the time... =P
  2. I got some spacemarine minis...for my DeathWatch RPG. I like my players to see the battles and move their "little avatars" around. I use D6's for what every enemies they could encounter.

To be able to make 4 spacemarines from the DeathWatch, I needed to buy an entire squad of marines made of plastic, since they are not sold per piece...why should they? And then, I needed the shoulderguards for the Deathwatch that are made of metal and needed to be ordered extra.

Put a pack of colors to the basket to be able to paint them...and man, your in over 50€ for the joy of having 4 players at the table that can move their marines around.

    Thank you games workshop!

But then, nobody forced me to...heck, now I got a new spacemarine game to sink my goldcoins in. Yeppy !

Well in Britain stuff is a bit cheaper as I found out talking to some guys in a chapter I'm part of who are mainly US players and I think a box of Chaos Marines is £23 but for them I think it was over $34 so... And last time I checked I think the £1 is worth $1.65 might have changed a little bit though.

Prices do add up quickly within GW, I'll admit that since when I first went in there I bought about £70+ of stuff and I'd been in there for about fifteen minutes...

I have similar conundrum when I wanted to get some Noise Marines and I can't buy them in a set like I can with Khorne Berserkers I would need to buy a set of Marines and then use the upgrade kit =/

But I'll probably do it at some point...
  4. I personally have spent thousands of dollars on GW stuff. It isn't a game for the poor that is for sure. I used to compete a lot in RTT (Rouge Trader Tournaments) and yes they have very specific rules, like no non-GW minis, but it does make for a good time. Sportsmanship is a key component of your overall score, something you will almost never find in online games. If you are a poor sport in RTTs, you will most likely not do well and maybe even asked to leave and not come back.

It merges a dystopian future with a medieval society. Something I always trying to imagine since I was a child. Also the 40K universe makes reference to many of my preffered Sci-fi authors in the 50's and 60's. This is the perfect mixture for my scapism... Ah, and also love strategy games, so the Tabletop and Dawn of War series just falls perfect in my type fun time.

My first 3-4 paychecks I spent on GW stuff... quickly stopped doing that! :)
  7. Most w40k quotes are really cool and even deep and meaningful. I plan on getting a few tattooed, they're just so damn awesome.
  8. aeh...your going to tatoo WH quotes ? For real? On yourself? For real????

Dude...at my age if I tatoo something on me it would look like:

"The Emperor rules" and if I stretch my skin the whole meaning "The ugly Emperor of mankind rules your little lives you unbeliever" would appear.
  9. Well, I already have a Chaos star on me, so more Warhammer-based tattoos is the only logical option. I still need top find the perfect quote though.

So far, my candidates are "Life is not measured in years, but in the deeds of men", "War within, war without" and/or "Stand as kings, fall as brothers" (with the respective Space Wolf logo above it).
  10. how about "Rokdak iz da biggest n bestist"
