Played across all, balance is.. kinda there kinda not. LSM - are a bit to much The Servo skull was poorly thought out, right now Jinx/Warp are a constant drain on the lock/sorc, they can't do anything while channeling it and it affects 1 person. Tac? Toss a grenade into a room, highlight everyone with blinky targets and get the same effect. Just.. where was the balance thoughts on the servo? Stalker Bolter - LSM are just getting to much versatility, now we have HB's for killing and suppression, PCs for hammering choke points with blops of plasma, very accurate bolters for close-mid range and now a sniper weapon to go with the hitscan lascannon. There isn't a range they falter at and fortress attacks and defenses are becoming even worse when dealing with this mixture. Apoths - Not sure why the support class with the best K/D in the game (in a faction with the worst K/Ds across the board no less) received the gentlest nerfs, most my campaign time was spent on a bolter Apoth, I don't want to see it nerfed though I want the other supports to gain back lost HP. CSM - Felt fine really, BUT it's the one faction I don't play support on, and with the nerfs on the Sorc I have no plans to ever. Only thing I can say and it's a blanket thing is again, power weapon attack speeds.. want to use the axe but.. it's so bad compared to the sword or the fist, to slow for not enough extra damage.. looks so cool though. Orks - Mostly ok Dakka Deffgun still drives me nuts, can't stand the locked in place super slow turning it does when firing and the Kannon is so polarizing to me, when using it I dislike having to unbrace to reload constantly, and getting suppressed swings you all around, but when fighting against it the constant barrage of OHKs a few kannons can put out is beyond annoying. Painboys still need some love but not as much love as Ork vehicles do, things are so hard to drive. Eldar - Ehh ok? LP armours are overcosted, classes have already been hit with lower HP overall but the armour costs more than any other faction for the same stats (or less in some circumstances) which is really really wrong. First because you don't double dip on Eldar lower HP by first giving us less base HP than charging us more for upgrades, but also because the increased toughness has less impact with our lower HP. Less HP for toughness to reduce damage against = less useful = should cost less for toughness if anything. Warlock - Less HP has been a bit more challenging but than the loss of pen on the witchblade than the loss of warp charge pool increases means I'm putting out less damage, less healing and less HP to get smacked around with. pretty bleh guys.. pretty bleh. Swooping Hawk - I found it a pain to do well with before, now with less HP and auto spotted while flying? I don't even try in games.. just a big nope Dark Reaper - Someday Reaper.. someday... can we at least get a fix for the starshot to actually always go where your pointing? Trying to snipe out entrenched heavy weapons and having it constantly going over their heads is so frustrating.. So much easier using a lascannon. Also the Redbeam of death doesn't give away your position nearly as much as watching the ball travel and seeing a brightly charging gun. Eldar really need rangers to deal with all these 2 shot weapons we face, something to 2 shot back with and still need ourselves powerfists, as been said it feels like to much glass without enough cannon. Right now it's LSM - Lascannon, Stalker Bolter, Powerfist CSM - Lascannon, Autocannon, Powerfist Orks - Zappgun, Kannon, Rokkit (ok this one is at least hard) and PowerKlaw Eldar - Starshot
-CSM and LSM (deleted my eldar and ork characters) -Same as always -uselfull weapons? well for me bolter as always (i play 99% of the time with it, 230 out of the 250+ hours i have played are with it), but in generall plasma + stormbolter + stalker seem really powerful right now useless weapons? cant find anything useless for the factions i play, but for orks there are a few -bugs? cant think of anythingright now but i have definately found some in this patch -lag spikes? same as always
-Orks -Still kinda fun but frustrating as a lot of our stuff is still broken. I vary between laughing euphoria and wanting to shatter my monitor. -MOST USEFUL WEAPON: Rokkit Launcha, good AV with some anti-infantry capability if you can lead your target/pray hard enough for a hit. -MOST USELESS WEAPON: Toss-up between Skip Launcha and Six-Slugga. Skip Launcha you can't hit anything with and doesn't do well for the area-denial niche the devs like to push down our throats about it. Six-Slugga does crap damage and it's reload time is nearly that of the Slab Slugga which is far better in comparison. The mild accuracy boost isn't nearly worth it. Both are garbage weapons and have been for the past 6 months, they should be either totally re-worked or deleted from our arsenal as 99% of Ork players won't touch them after their initial trial run with them. -BUGS: Health restoration items not functioning (experienced this issue on 5 spearate occasions yesterday, ticket has been opened). Still hanging motionless in midair for 2 seconds when vaulting over a wall, leading to easy kills for enemies. Axe/Club speed is still the same as the Power Klaw, making them useless in comparison. Kannon still cannot reload while braced, resulting in an extra 5-7 second delay between shots. Have watched bullets pass through edges of cover, resulting in deaths that shouldn't have happened. Vehicle mechanics are still all screwed up, resulting in lots of tipping over for Trukks and a near-complete inability for our siege tank to aim. Still getting stuck on 1-inch high gaps in some maps between terrains, resulting in obvious routes of movement actually being blocked off. -Lag spikes for me are actually worse currently. I've not had much lag since the game came out but this last patch has seen much more stuttering in the game.
Playing CSM exclusively - either traitor or traitor assault. Traitor Assault - I seem to be squishier now. Before I could, from mid-range, happily take out 1-2 ranged weapon users alone; and now I'm either downed or extremely low health even in 1v1 situations. My loadout is similar except, due to the armor changes, I have 11 less armor; also the CQC mod and AP rounds mod are really annoying (I'm assuming LSM bolters have that). Traitor - I barely used this class before the patch but I'm getting the hang of it, it's fairly easy to rack up kills in most situations; I tend to wonder though because I've faced some bolter-using LSM who can drop me within two seconds without me even noticing that they can fire at me; this ain't stalker bolters but just the regular bolters. So for instance, I'm shooting straight at them, aiming for their head - they roll - and immediately after popping out of the roll animation, I go from full armor to no armor in a splitsecond - it's as if I got hit by several headshots within a short timeframe. EDIT: Been playing for a few minutes after the servers went back up recently and have disconnects, even characters disappearing in the selection menu. Servers are probably still unstable now.
- What I play: Omniplayer - How I feel: I think Faction balance is in an ok between CSM/Eldar/Ork, with LSM being slightly ahead of everyone. LSM probably got the biggest buff to competitive play. Servo Skull, shields against ranged, most useful support, Stalker Bolter, etc. Orks are probably ahead of everyone on pug-level play. - Most useful weapons: All tactical base weapons. Bolter, ASC and Shoota. It's not even a contest. - Most useless weapons: All slow Melee weapons. Axes Maces and PFist specially. Taking longer to swing means taking more bullets before the hit connects. I haven't been able to play Axes/Maces on this very recent patch that supposedly fixed them due to the amazon things. But if PFist wasn't touched, it loses to a dagger. A dagger. Honorary mention to Reaper Launcher. I love the weapon, but it's just so frustratingly gimped when compared to other weapons. - Bugs: See above. - Lag is obviously super bad thanks to the Amazon thing. Couldn't complete a single game before the shutdown.
- Play: CSM & Eldar - Feels: Good when everyone works as a team due to teamplay being absolutely essential now. Tearing my hair out otherwise - Gud hurty stuff: Suppressing Weapons, Grenades, Plasma Cannon (when it works), Anti Vehicle as always. Sniping Weapons. A lot of stuff is useful for many situations. If you asked us to list the worst offerings, it would be easier. - Bugz: Plasma Cannon jamming up every second shot is the only one that comes to mind right now due it it being my fave weapon of choice. - Fk'ing Lag: Rubber banding A LOT in 99% of games. Cover is nigh on impossible to utilise and pushing is just complete whack. Also gotta love those teleport moments that send you suicide'ing into a bloody chasm.
I haven't gotten to put enough time into it yet as I just got to play some yesterday eve since patch, So far Warlock is feeling much less enjoyable. -your melee weapon now feels completely pointless other than getting some extra charge, but at 100 LP for +15 charge really doesn't feel worth it. Makes Crone blade the only real choice if your going to upgrade from base weapon. -melee support feels like your a free kill, as you die so fast to ranged weapons, and even with speed, they can disengage from melee and shoot you down before you can get on them to melee fight. -if you want to be able to do support role you need charge / regen gear, which means your very fragile, much more so than even other factions. Feels like I get one quick swing off before I'm dead. -I also find I'm spending a lot of time waiting for regen or charge, and not sure why they nerfed Croneblades regen value which made it an excellent option. So I'm still testing but initial impression hasn't been to great. But alas, us Eldar have gone through worse, and we will survive the forge this time around as well.
About 20 minutes ago, a LSM fan talked about how much BS it was that a Space Marine dies when being run over by a tank that he accidentally punched into himself by bouncing it off a wall, and he argued that he should be able to punch it to death without it being able to get away.
