Bolter with regular magazine is an unfunny joke.
With a drum-mag however, effectivity rises quite high.

Best weapon in my opinion is ASC, close followed by Bolter, and we don't talk about the regular ork shoota

I routinely get Assassin with the regular bolter. I can beat out heavies.

About the only thing I can see them add for Bolter, ASC, or Shoota, is possibly a penetration ammo mag. Like the teeth for chainswords to raise them up to 96 pen, with a tradoff for only having 35 or so rounds. More than standard mag, less than box.

It may have high effectivity but what about killing orks

Boltgun is virtually impossible to kill anyone with. I'm not sure how anyone does it.

The spread is too high, the recoil is too high, the headshot damage is too low. It takes at least 15 headshots to kill an Ork and its impossible to kill an Eldar.

Shootas are way better. I started a level one ork alt and killde 20 people with a shootas.

I'm rather adverse to bragging, but yer welcome to ask many of the DLB boyz what they think of my bolter and its effectiveness vs Orks. At the moment I rarely use anything else but the bolter in the LSM arsenal, and that is against any of the factions. If you have the sufficient aim mixed with good map awareness and ASD skills, you can easily out damage anyone in the infantry category.

With following these simple stepps:

1) Lock your inner ork away.
2) Lock it I've said.
3) Make sure its locked.
4) Stop.
5) Press Aim button.
6) Score headshots.
7) NOOOO you green monkey! You weren't supposed to roll and hipfire!

Its almost pinpoint accurate, it becomes inaccurate when opponent size is half the size of crosshair.
Contrary to what people may believe, how Katie shoots on streams is NOT how bolter is supposed to be used, in fact, its perfect lesson on how NOT to use it.

That is the weapon to hip fire on short range and you'll still do 10 times better if you'd just aitm.

Even devs can't patch clueless players. Bolter is powerful and amazing weapon, if you can't use it, it means you're using it wrong.
