Why hasn't there been veterans implemented already?

    Just curious as this would make PVE a whole lot more fun.

    Would also make it a lot easier, unless it were a Veteran only mode/difficulty.

    Make the veterans hardmode only, would be very fun.

    Or just make veterans work like in PVP. One life, and if you die, you lose it, and have to change to a normal loadout.

    That'd potentially allow people to change classes, such as from Veteran Tactical to a Ground Assault in preparation for a Warrior, by suiciding before the lock.

    What is the problem with changing classes? Space marine let you pick new marine per every arena. Level ten and up easily count as a new one.

    The example I was using was for the Hive Complex. Being able to swap loadouts mid-Hive would make things too easy, as a team could just suicide a Veteran that's no longer useful in order to change to a more useful class.

    Well, that's even better. A tactical death. If there is thought and sacrifice for something better, I see it as good gameplay element. Otherwise, it would feel forced.

    Lore wise ? No, the death of a veteran is a tragedy, especially that everything about this "glorious sacrifice" make it more feel that it will include a useless suicide by a grenade thrown at his feets. If you think that players will die in a glorious combat to change their class you know very badly how players behave, they will safely finish the room, and then just jump stupidly into the lava.

    There it's just a useglitch to pass on something that is key in the actual PVE, it's the preparation. Players are mostly waiting so long to have a full team that they are ready to discuss at the beginning what they could take with them to fight. The PVE is the principle of a kill-team sent into the bowels of a hive, and once they have entered it's either success or death. If it was possible to change between each room, the players (even the eldars who are extremly shitty at this mode) will just steamroll the hardmode, farm xp at high speed and completly deny the original point of the mode, which is to be prepared to fight for an extended period of time against waves of xenos coming at you, and you cannot always have what it takes to take them down. You must improvise, adapt and survive. In short, it's a deathwatch gamemode.

    To be completely frank; I think PvE mode is difficult enough that veterans should be allowed with no strings attached.
