Last night players were going crazy in chat. Grenades dont kill them. Melee weapons dont kill them. Ranged weapons dont kill them. I PERSONALLY saw ONE RAPTOR kill 4 Space Marines in less than 5 seconds, where the 4 space marines were just standing there not moving or doing anything. The Raptor slaughtered them all. Everyone in chat was saying how Raptors are RUINING this game. WHEN WILL YOU NERF THEM?
JPAs are super strong. As a CSM I have started to see packs of JPA roving together--extremely deadly. The 4 not moving could just be the build/lag. In this new version my character freezes sometimes for a good 15-20 seconds.
Could be a net code issue. If you watch my recent videos I down them quite easily. What scenario are you having trouble with ? Maybe I could help or give some advice
Remember both Jump Assault and Raptors have less health than other marines. One burst of a Multi Melta will destroy them. Also take Krak grenades. You stick either of them and there is nothing they can do to get away from the blast they cant roll to get I frames to cheat the killing blow. Should you be on Chaos you can use a SoC sorc to poision jump assault to oblivion as they can jump but SoC stays locked on them and thier less health means it kills them mid air. The big trick to this game is learning what counters what and learning how to deal with classes that counter you. If I can do this at 5-15 FPS you can do it with a much better machine and you will start to dominate. BTW if this turns into an arguement I am putting it to the sword.
you remember the name of the raptor? also bolt weapon in general appear to be bugged and certwin bullet don't connect even if the crosshair get the hit notification.
As a frequent JPA class player I can say death is everywhere, around every corner and difficult to avoid... I don't think that even the more skilled JPA players could take down 4 guys in 5 seconds.. Let me just say JPA are far from invincible unless you've got FPS/Ping issues or some combination thereof and that won't specifically make just Raptors invincible..
Nup, killed 4 of them in the last game for 0 deaths (3 melee kills and 1 HB). Nothing OP about them for me.
I've gotta say, JPA is a -very- challenging class to play. As someone who primarily plays them and has been playing the game since day one of founders access, I find them horrifically fragile. This class has jumped around a lot (No pun intended) from being absurdly over powered (ground pound fest anyone?) to it's now, in my opinion, overly specialized underpowered state. The only thing they really excel at is their shameful jet behind and backstab their opponent. First off, I hate that fact to begin with, as it's a terribly way to have to play the game, constantly trying to get a backstab in rather than a proper face to face fight, and secondly, it's the ONLY thing they're good at. The ground pound, disruption aspect of the class seems almost unnoticed at this stage of the game and their place as being a hard counter to entrenched devastators barely is relevant as they are so fragile, it's extremely rare to make it to those devastators without being shot out of the sky by a couple stray bolter rounds. My 2 cents, the class needs to have it's quick jump to the opponents back REMOVED completely and their health/toughness needs to go back to the standard tactical/traitor level. This way they will be what they are meant to be, highly MOBILE shock assaults, there to cover ground and take out high threat targets. Not unarmored stealth assassins like the Striking Scorpions.
