It's apparently canon IG won Soulstorm, but the canon with DoW 1 is muddy that way. For instance, there's only strong hints that the canon ending of Winter Assault is the IG ending, but there's some evidence that it could be the Eldar ending as well. And don't get me started on Dark Crusade.
Well for Winter Assault I think Gorgutz won because he got the skull. Dark Crusade Davian won because he survives. Soulstorm I think is the real mystery but we know that the Blood Ravens lost.
I would have to argue that it would be Gazghkull because however close to defeat he always is he manages to pull of a win or come back to fight another day.
Crull always dies, that much is true. But we never see Gorgutz die, in any ending, so that he lives is not indicative of him getting the ending. The best indicator is Farseer Taldeer. She dies in the two Disorder endings, but she lives in her own, and in the case of the IG ending, we don't actually see her die, the camera pans off. She's an Eldar Farseer; if anyone could have escaped those circumstances, it would be her. The books claim the IG won the battle, and were restoring the Titan, however people claim they aren't canon. In my head, the ending is the IG one, with Taldeer escaping Lorn V after the death of her entourage, and heading to Kronus to fight the Necrons.
Indeed, since winter assault is mainly based around the imperial guard. After all they were the new faction in the game, the whole story was based around that faction. Chaos and orkz had to unite to penetrate through the imperial guard's defenses to get the titan that belonged to the imperial guard, while the Imperial Guard had to escort the titan crew along with the Ultramarines, headed by Varnus, to the titan.
Let's get started on Dark Crusade! Eliphas fails his masters, they send him back into the warp and then he his summoned back in Chaos Rising. Davian thule apparently survived the Dark Crusade, with only an eye. He managed to defeat the necrons and seal the tomb. Shas'O Kais was unsuccessful taking Kronus and simply driven off world. He still lives. Taldeer's fate is pretty much unknown whether she's alive or not... Gorgutz 'Ead 'Unter also was forced off world, he later appeared in Soulstorm after all. Lukas Alexander died by the Blood Ravens. For not leaving the planet.
