So there have been a few games made so far - Space Hulk (Original and Remake) Fire Warrior Dawn of War I and II Space Marine. I am curious to know which games players are partial to and have that 40k feel. For me it's the first Dawn of War series right up to Soulstorm which have been my favourite renditions so far though I am waiting for the Space Hulk remake to come to iOS, final confirmation that Dark Millenium is dead in the water and of course Eternal Crusade to blow them all away. Does anyone else have a title they are particularly partial to?
Dark Crusade was great. Dawn of War as a whole was great. Space Marine was nice but it's to vanilla to be my favorite.
Dawn of War II if it needed to be put down to a single game. I liked the XCOM element of outifitting your troops, optional side missions to deal with threats and having to keep tyranid infestation levels down.
It is surely Chaos Gate, I loved the entire sound track and feel of that game. Knowing that despite all the missions ahead, when a brother fell there was no coming back, nothing like these fluff easy games now. Plus I'd spent forever customizing my squads 'You will be cleansed!'
I think I've had the most overall fun with DoW2:Retribution, though as far as I'm concerned all the games were good but none was truly amazing.
Logged the most time with original Dawn of War and probably consider that to be my favorite after mods as the most complete package of 40K in video game form with expansions. Played and enjoyed Dawn of War 2 (all of them) and Space Marine as well.
