Personally, I think I prefer a buy it once, it's out of mind sort of deal. Subscriptions are typically a major sign that something isn't right, for me at least. Granted you might like Eve online, or WoW or whatever it is, subscription based loses out on alot of players over time. Maybe not for the first year, but you sure won't have the same base after a year, maybe even a few months. Also, if they're gonna have free to play orks, and you paid for that subscription period, what happens to your non orks? Do they just sit there and not do anything? Can you play them with frozen progression? I don't think anyone likes the ideas of either of those things.

Mainly I'm coming from the point of someone who has a job (well, I'm military, so I have less free time than usual compared to normal jobs) What's gonna keep me and those I work with playing with a subscription model? If we can buy it once and not have to worry about it, and can play when we're home when we are, then that's fantastic. If we have to worry every month about paying a subscription and asking ourselves "hey, did we get the play time out of the game, while we weren't executing the mission?"

A subscription based game isolates gamers far more than other systems. Granted it might make money in the long term, but so will expansions and in game microtransactions. As for the eve thing, there are those (like me) who have jobs that require extreme amounts of time, I guarantee you I don't have the time to farm stuff and make ingame money to pay my next subscription, and when does anyone enjoy grinding? I'd rather be playing the game like I'm a CSM, not a care in the world about having to make enough in game money to pay for next subscription.

    Just my two cents.
  2. I'm totally down with the way they have it described. F2P as Ork boyz to see if you like the game... Subscriptions for more. I'm down with buying cosmetics and finishing moves and social stuff. But I'm not down with P2W potions and boosters. That crap is for lazy people or players trying to rapidly gain an edge. An exploit is an exploit even if you're paying to use it.

  3. Doing online purchases is a whore in south africa and I don't feel like buying a game and then only being able to play it if I spend more money
  4. Wut?

  5. In-game money for a subscription? WTF? $15 bucks a month is 1 less trip through the drive through a month. I don't get the whole in-game money thing. I expect a monthly sub that is par for the course with any AAA title. Because I expect a AAA game with all that support and I want to support my favorite franchise. I'm one of those loons that would sell one of my testicles to ensure this game makes it. Subs don't bother me...
  6. Nasty and expensive to use
  7. Lol. If you say so. I wouldnt know.

I'd rather spend my money on something I know I'd be able to use indefinitely rather than question if because this month I had only 2 hours to play, I should debate quitting my sub. I'd support the game, but Im not for spending money out of principle while I'm not getting use out of it.

Also, the in game money thing was in response to a few posts before mine, there was a guy talking the EVE sub model
