I wonder how Dark Reaper are going to stack up. These guys could be a lot of fun for flanking and punishing.
Swooping Hawks seem like mad fun to play, I have really high hopes for them, on the other hand I'm scared shitless about Warlocks, they are my favourite 40k fighters and I feel they are gonna be relegated to a support only function with no way to close the gap to reach melee :_(
Isn't warlock going to simply be the sorceror pendant, meaning he's gonna be the dedicated healer ? Don't think they'll have much powers : they are basic classes... Personally I'm interested in warlock, depending of its actual abilities though it will definitely not be as powerful as dow2 commander, as dark reaper and dire avenger, since they choosed swooping hawk over warp spider...
Well, I have high hopes for the Dire Avenger. I hope eventually they will have the option of dedicated melee loadout, just for the occasional slash and stab. But in any case I will mostly use the Avenger Shuriken Catapult and go capping. Gun cata, you know. Accordingly the melting capper aka Fire Dragon is also interesting to me. We will see how the melta gun will turn out, I assume the Eldar version won't be much different. And last but not least, there is number three. Well, I like both the Striking Scorpion who has a nice thick armour and whirring chainsword (but still is an Eldar) and the Dark Reaper with his assortment of large ranged weapons. I'm curious to see how the Reaper Missile Launcher will work. It should be a really scary weapon, as it is a dedicated anti-infantry missile launcher and armour-piercing. But some Shuriken Cannon is also nice. Accordingly this means that the spell-guy and the vulnerable melee girl are not according to my taste. As for the Eldar Icarus, I really don't know. Harassing can be a lot of fun, so maybe it will be my relax class.
I wonder what will happen with PVE. How will these classes match up against the Tyranids on Arkhona? We have alot of crowd control (Howling Banshee), but some classes such as Swooping Hawks wouldn't be able to do much against the 'Nids in tight corridors and tunnels.
The same goes for assault sm... Dire avenger, howling banshees, dark reaper will be the main force once again, warlock as maybe fire dragon in support.
Makes sense, was just curious considering the Eldar faction is a different style of play for its classes than sm and csm.
No surprise really. A dedicated tank hunter* in an infantry focused game isn't going to get a lot of love. *Unless Brent and co have something nice up their sleeves to enhance the class beyond that role.
lol on some maps itll be funny just have 2 fire dragons hiding behind a corner, and when a tank rolls on by, burn them to ashes
