If people whined enough for Orks to get nerfed I wouldn't be surprised. I have 90 hours of gameplay logged, which isn't much, and most of that is as eldar. My second faction has been orks, with CSM and finally LSM I finally tried this week. I'm saying this unbiased, as I'm sure man of you do...but LSM really do like to complain. A lot. Infact, the whole week I've played them everyday, I'd say every match there's 2-3 guys that are either complaining about how OP eldar, Orks or CSM are compared to them, the whole match. Or they complain amongst themselves and point fingers when they are losing. This usually gets more players whining. These things happen with other factions as well, but no where near the degree it does when I play LSM. Heck I was literally called out by name by a LSM today playing my SS, saying I only was good cause of crappy latency eldar cause. I've also noticed its a bit....easier to play as LSM. If I make a mistake playing eldar I'm toast. As LSM I can pick a havoc standard load out, sit in a window with 2-3 guys shooting st me, and I can still down one, jump away and crouch, and do it all over again. When I play dark reaper I would never be so ballsy. And that's a dark reaper with custom load out and everything. I won't even get into JPA...needless to say, I usually came top 8 or so at least playing LSM, and that's with no special load outs at all. It's not that they take no skill, it's that you have more survivability. That being said, there's some great LSM players and others who are very positive and have helped me out since I started playing with advice, and I've even played with them a few times and it was a learning experience to see how they play well. As far as I'm conerned, orks are not OP at all. Whenever I play against them and win/lose, it's always a fair match. Any faction can be claimed to be OP and needing nerfs when you play Against an organized team who knows what they are doing. Heck, half the time it's PUGS vs guild war parties. Those are tough matches, but we pulled off a win against some LSM and eldar guilds today playing as orks! And in some matches we were utterly trashed. So I think all is well with orks. But that's just me. But win or lose, doesn't matter with Orks! I play eldar when I feel competitive and want a challenge...I play orks when I want an uphill battle where I don't care if I win!
We will both get nerfed my green fungus friends and they will give the LSM at least 16 more guns to compensate.
When SM's get missiles, i hope their as accurate as the rokkits. But i can't help but shake the feeling they're going to be very accurate by comparison. It's bad enough when you look out of a window and get hit by a heavy bolter, a ball of plasma, as lascannon or a tank gun or an Autocannon if it's against chaos. They don't need missiles as an area denial weapon, both have already got plenty of those as it is. There either going to complain it's not accurate, or it it is, complain about the damage because it's so accurate.
Orks don't need a nerf, people just need to get better. Often when I play ork (which is all the damn time) If the team is unorganised or lacking direction I ping a point in distress and shout "GET OVER THERE YA FILTHY GROTZ" It seems to work and soon you can usually turn things around other factions are too stubborn to direct unless idk you're some famous streamer or something stupid I guess. they don't seem to listen too much to anything.
This and more of this. I find with orks getting better usually means fighting in groups. I got 30 melee kills today plus a few grenade kills by always making myself stay with a group vs LSM and 25 melee kills vs CSM. Melee is a tough class to take on in a duel, but in the middle of combat there's so much going on its a lot easier to get kills. I find as orks, like eldar, you need to have melee and shooting together. LSM or CSM can spam JPA and still do very well. Orks and Eldar need all pieces on the table in a battle to do well. I get downed in a second unless I have a loota or shoota backing me up. If I don't group up a lot and find myself alone a lot of the time, I'm lucky if I get 15 kills a match. I find people don't even need to be generally amazing at aiming, possess melee skill or anything of the sort....if you stay in a group, someone's strengths make up for the others weaknesses and it all goes a lot better.
@Razmirth I was once ambushed by a Blood Angel JPA defending a point. I managed to win with knuckles vs power sword because he didn't jump out of my Dbash. I was pretty happy, then turned around and saw a whole squad of SM had been watching this duel, then all gunned me down after i won. I fought dem uumies woz 'posed to be 'onorable. I've seen snotlings more 'onorable dan dat.
I hate being on the nerf bandwagon, but until I can drop an ork with a bolter faster than he can kill a Shield Marine with knuckles, they need a nerf. A 2v1 shouldn't be a walk in the park for any faction really..
