Odd. I get more kills with the storm bolter than with the autocannon. But tactics and teamwork are for ninnies! Just ask about half the SM players!
Because they are too busy with negative attitudes... not all just noticed a few seems mostly the new players who do not know how to play the game. I will now call them Triggered Space Marines
Hard to get people to crew a Predator. Often I spawn one then asking for a crew. Often if I try to man a weapon, someone gets in and treats it like a taxi.
Bring the crew count for a Predator down to three (how it is in the fluff anyway if I recall correctly). Driver gets access to the sponson heavy bolters (with LMB for left HB, and RMB for right HB), second seat gets the main gun (and I agree, a stabilizer would be an excellent idea), and third seat would go to the pintle-mounted storm bolter for close in anti-infantry defense. This way the driver wouldn't be overpowered, but would still have effective weaponry and be less inclined to switch seats (thus cutting down on stationary predators, which make me sigh). With a stabilizer, people would be more inclined to gun. And with only three required to fully man the vehicle, it wouldn't take half a squad away from doing the important leg work.
IIRC the fluff says 3+ with the 4th controlling the pintle being optional because the machine spirit can be tasked to control that, 1 Brother for the HBs 1 to drive 1 to control/aim the main cannon. Meanwhile the Leman Russ battle tank requires around 6 or 7 for the same lvl of combat effectiveness cause they don't have a machine spirit powerful enough to handle reloading and other such tasks on its own,
I love a fully man tank... BUT.. in a 20v20 that tank is a quarter of the troops. which could be guarding a point. And the fact the map allows tanks to only move 2 metres and block so much line of sight makes it not as viable as it should be. Hopefully when bigger maps (designed well) happen and 50v50++ happens, then tanks will actually be 100% needed and ohh boy am i keen!!!!
the Wolves know how to use Predators We just take 3 full squads and grab every vehicle available and ram them down the throats of our enemies. Generally works and provides great cover for your Rhino's. Also scares the shit out of defenders when they see a mobilized legion coming at them at fast speed. We generally fill up our vehicles with Tacticals w/t Meltabombs or Sky Claws to do swift strikes upon objective.
Well, you could also have the passengers hang on for dear life. It would be unbalanced as hell but soooo funny and lore appropriate to see the orks do it.
Never get people asking for gunners or even waiting for anyone to get in, i have chased a couple down and got on a gun a coouple of times but its not easy, squad vox would be good
