?

Do you want to blow out your own brains in an attempt to set that guy on fire?

  1. Yes

  2. Yes, but I don't want to admit it so I'm going to treat this option as a no.

So it's a thing where psykers have to pass a test to use their power or some freaky deaky crap happens and their faces melt. I want this. I want that if I run out of "mana" (I would prefer we call it Warp Energy) and continue using our abilities anyway we take damage and risk summoning a giant space demon that rips your face off and then peaces out back to the warp.

    Would it be balanced? Maybe?

Would be it Fair? Can you still shoot when your mag is empty? No? THROW YOUR GUN AT THEM! Same concept. Except it's your face. And probably most of your innards.

  2. I liked the "combustion" backlash mechanic from Warhammer Online psyker/Bright Wizard. You can literally blow yourself up if you dont manage your combustion properly.

It's free to play as a fan made redux. I encourage anyone at BHVR looking for concepts for Perils of the Warp to try out the backlash/combustion mechanic as utilized by the Empire Bright Wizard or the Chaos Sorcerer/Sorceress.

Aye, the Perils of the Warp mechanic is already planned:

    7. How exactly will the system for the Perils of the Warp work (the reactionary targets you mentioned before), how many " power tiers" will the mechanic have (1st being the regular, second overcharged, third?) and will the Perils be affecting the Force Weapons in any way? Also will the system work differently on Hero classes that are psychic?

ALEXIS: The system will work according to the power type you use. Whether it is a power that you release at once after charging it (like a fire ball for example) or if it is a power that you use over time (like the heal). If it is a power that you charge and release, the idea is that the more you charge it (to release something powerful), the more you take risk. A power over time will over heat and stop if you just hold it, but you will be able to maintain it longer and more powerful if you overcharge it but then you take a risk. There will be three levels of perils according to the amount of risk you take. Also every time you fail the next peril level will be +1 (it goes down after a while). Heroes are not designed yet but of course, one way or another they will be “special”.
