Striking Scorpions need about 2 seconds to do anything after dodging while space marines (both LSM and CSM) can make a dbash or attack immediately after dodging, earlier you could do something after rolling immediately and it helped alot in melee against stronger space marines
Interesting, I don't think that's intentional. I'll look into it. Also, the Nurgle Heal will be tempered a bit and Warlocks will get more than one healing spell. Renewer is intended to be a way for a Warlock to channel and support a group up to a short distance, but you also need a power that lets you trigger a heal/buff and then do something else if you want to play the Warlock differently. As mentioned earlier in the thread the Warlock & Sorcerer will never be offensive powerhouses, but the Warlock will get more buffing potential. Note that the most difficult part about creating any non-channeled support buffs in this game is the potential for it to just make the support character a badass beyond all the other classes since they can always use those buffs on themselves without any necessary coordination. They're coming, but we have to be pretty careful about them.
@BrentEllison im from spain so sometimes i dont catch all you guys say on stream will apothecary also get poison grenades or more tools other than the healing station? Because you anounced new apothecary tools but i only saw one tool.gracias
Unless I am mistaken, we get damage mid-dodge so we are basically dying during the dodge animation (Or even die during the dodge). Also regarding the damage powerhouse, I suppose a lot of us don't ask that, but what we ask is to be somewhat like the other support classes. They apply debuffs which is helpful for a support class, or like the sorc that they can lock on target while debuffing. Don't forget that as warlocks we are squishier than the rest so it would be nice to be able to have an attack to help us with the kitting of the enemy and give us a fighting chance, at least to survive! Destructor is a close range skill and doesn't apply a debuff or deal nearly enough damage so as to allow us to stand a chance in 1v1 encounters. In the live streams you said that apothecaries and painboyz are the ones that need to get buffed, but when I play as an apothecary I can support my team as well as survive and kill people. During melee hits those 2 classes apply a debuff as well.
The hawks have a similar issue when they "dodge" into the air. There is a "window" when they just hang there unable to evade further or shoot back at the attacker. Even that little period is enough for most attackers to re acquire and down the Hawk. Also, with the current Hawk rifle build you need all the time and rounds on target as possible ( which is mostly fine and workable without a buff) so the inability to fire or continue to fire at a charging enemy while moving ( being an agile and harrassy class ) really diminishes your combat efficacy and forces the choice to either live and not contribute at all or contribute a tiny bit( becasue Hawks can't and shouldn't win a round for round toe to toe blaze off) and die. My bad for assuming it was a conscious decision!! You Devs are so on top of the changes and the forums compared to any other game I've seen, its sometimes easy to forget that development is still in full swing! Keep doing what youre doing BE we all appreciate the heck out of it!. Now Back to Lock talk
I understand the point about applying self buffs can make them a "go to" character, but making it so those powers don't affect you (such as dropping a protect buff as a field on the ground) could be a way to avoid the self buffing nonsense. I'm just looking for ways to play differently as a warlock, as well as some 'flavor' to the powers. A good example was this evening, I wanted to jinx chaos marines for my team and it just made me a huge red target. Since I have limited range on the power, and am primarily a melee unit its not fun to have all bolters just turn to me at once (and chain axes, and power swords, and power mauls- you get the idea). I mean sorcerers can take that kind of punishment, not these little warlocks. Now if I could have shot off that jinx and everyone in the 'splash zone' got the debuff I could have just dipped out and let my guys handle the rest, or swapped to heals. Again, if the worry is that I get to jinx anyone and then do bonus damage, cut my bonus damage in half to keep people from just jinxing fights and auto winning. And on the alternate healing powers, a pbaoe HoT would be fun. To balance it out, say if you take a hit while under the influence it stops the heal or something along those lines.
