Well, we all waited for this, this famous patch, especially LSM.
How many times have I been insulted for playing Ork or Eldar? Countless times, but eh, salt is in every video game.

I've always used campaign's result to see how well each community did well in game. It was near equal before, even if we could see a better win rate overall for Eldar and CSM.

First afterpatch campaing, results are here and I'm impressed
    LSM-3145
    Eldar-1465
    Ork-1641
CSM-"it didn't wanted to show, if someone can complete"

    It's bad, really bad.
Does Eldar suddenly forgot how to play? No, but a new gameplay as been forced on them. The way of the sneaky bastard, the one who backdoor, the one who stab you in the back and must play tactically if he want to win.
But he has to backdoor in defense and attack, against races which can easily turtle in a building or just brute force in attack.

A lot of goods things came with this patch, but came with it something everyone wanted to avoid, brute force gameplay. Charge in head first, your armor protect you and your precise and powerful weapon will kill quickly those who try to stop you.

Eldar and Ork changes were majors, a few nerf and buff for CSM (autocanon/nurgle mark). Tanking capacity nerfed for Eldar, announcing a hit and run gameplay. But the dmg output is not here, same for the mobility we should have to hit and run.
SM are agile as more swift looking race, have 1.5x more dps output than them, and way more tanking ability. I will not talk about the arsenal, becoming more big, deadly and over-powered.

Becoming soon trial F2P, this game will appeal people, but in a wrong way. Why would they play tactical playing races, when they can brute force their way to victory.

Yes this kind of a rant, as I do not like to win easily or being walked over. Where is the appeal, when I can 3-4 shot someone on a magazine of 30 bullets with a pinpoint accuracy weapon and escape with only my armor down. Or the other way, firing 1/3 of a magazine, aiming to the head, to down someone who can turn quickly turn and reflex shot me in the head.

I saw multiple complains about every races. But this patch, by trying to add a new way of playing, probably broke the balance even more as the community said it was before.

Thank you for reading this. Lets all be polite and constructive in our arguments.

  2. I voted good despite having frustrations as Melee now and then.

I realize that, in the bigger picture, we're probably the best we've been balance wise. I play all factions as well(although truthfully I haven't played my Ork in a long time but I KNOW they're not hurting haha).

Edit: Also those wins are because of faction population, not balance or skill. LSM makes up around 45-55% of the playerbase, possibly even more with the F2P's that came in.

Balance is quite Good for me...it was a rough switch from what was before possible with each class. But once you realized that some classes need more care than others it makes a lot of fun...steam invested hours at 860 and still growing, which means I still like to play EC!!

  4. Looks like he meant faction balance.
How can you tell much when you die so fast coming around a corner anyway?
I guess faction balance is okay because all factions have guns that kill fast.

You are ignoring one extremely important thing.

    Factions are NOT equal numerically.

Last time we got data, LSM had 50% of ALL players, CSM 25%, orks 13% and Eldar 12%.

Applying these numbers to say statistical 1000 players we have what follows:

    500 players are LSM
    250 are CSM
    130 are Orks
    120 are Eldar

Expanding that for wins we have:

6,29 win per player for LSM
12,2 win per player for Eldar
12,6 win per player for Orks
And however many Chaos got, last time it was ~2400 so for the sake of argument I'll go with that and say 9,6 win per player for CSM.
  6. The balance imo is more or less ok. I do not seea faction clearly stronger than the others.
What is bad is some weapons are clearly better than others, some loadouts are no longer viable and some weapons keep being totally useless (Starswarm, Skip Launcher, Six Shoota etc...).
  7. I think that the patch is ¨good¨ despite the melee now being trashy.
I´m looking foward for optimization rather than a new revalance revamp on melee or so, I want this game to be SMOTH AND NOT BUGGY FIRST.

<Looks on this thread than looks on his choopa and 'eads amassed with it, than look back again>

But... I choop gitz with ease :|

Good that there are people that can tell me my build is shit, becouse I would never notice that ]:)

Overall I feel faction balance is better than it used to be. Orks feel tanky like they should be for being the "melee" race. Now they just need to make melee not awful and fix the server issues (Easier said than done for the latter). So I voted meh for the moment, once lag and whatnot is dealt with, I'd likely vote it good or at least above average.

Eldar can rip turtling positions to shreds and pincer apart enemy formations if they use all the tools at their disposal. Indoor combat in this game us all about the high ground, and Eldar can redeploy (figuratively, not using the in-game rexeploy button) the fastest, climb boxes the fastest, use Swooping Hawks to get ranged support on the high ground, and get their melee classes in the backdoors and up the stairs the fastest. They can also get their vehcles back to the front lines the fastest, get their meltas into range the fastest, and get harassment classes deep into enemy formations faster than any other race

Way to not play like an Eldar
