I assume their armor is cosmetic. And then I only look at their weapon enough to determine their class.
There's no one speaking in favor of IDing specifics of a class. Can some of you elaborate on what you mean? Seems some ID vets or big ticket items like Iron Halo. What about Master Crafted items?
I can only really tell what their wearing when it's something big like an Iron Halo, the big Sigil Hoop for Chaos and I can tell if an Ork is wearing a Gob or not but generally I don't think about it's type until afterwards. For those I might note that they have more armor and health so I might change my approach a little but not by much honestly as you rarely have that many options in the midst of battle. It usually comes down to stalling, running or just trying to out play them. For Eldar I never have a clue what they've got on, I might be able to tell they have a Rune on but I can never tell which it is in the heat of things.
the enemy can be wearing a bikini or relic armor. none matters to me. they die all the same and just as quickly. I only check for visual ques of a Veteran/Elite as those require slightly more effort.
Master crafted weapons barely make any difference, Vets do My reaction to an enemy who has a MC chainsword is the same to an enemy with a chainsowrd, and axe , a fist or anything , turning him into swiss cheese. When it comes to vets i change plans and try retreat and recharge with an ally. Unrelated, but I remember when I 1v1 face to face a dire avenger vet and came out victorious with my non vet tactcical. (I think it was before the vet revamp)
I'm... Not sure what you voted @Orfeask but I think you're missing the point, I want to know the thought process of those who voted Always Most of thr Time or Sometimes, because there are so far almost 0 of their voices here atm.
I mostly play what I want. The only time I change based on the teams makeup is using the Storm and Fury to clear out an entire room of entrenched enemies. Maybe if the enemy has a lot of Vets out, Ill pull out a fire dragon to melt them
I basically want to figure out what class my opponent is, so I can have an inkling of their melee capabilities in a general sense. And then their class is all I care about, since I don't give a damn which specific weapon they're using.
It's totally absurd to be limiting visual customization options based off of the premise that we have the time to make out the color or type of trim on our opponent's armour. They either have spikey, firey, glowing shit on their back or they dont. Other than that I dont have time to look past sizing up the following aspects of any given opponent: -Melee or ranged -heavy or light weapon In a 1 v 1 encounter nothing else really matters, though 1 v 1 is much less common of an occurrence in EC. Whether their armour trim is silver or gold, or if they're all green(some day Dark Angels!) that shit does NOT matter. The color of the paint on their Bolter, the designs, the "Bling" on their character or weapons DOES NOT MATTER. Nobody has the time to waste looking at those things, nor can you really make out those minor details while you or your opponent is firing, rolling or flying around the battlefield While there are other various factors that come into play, like a melee opponent being a Jump troop or Shield bearing ground assault, the make and model of their armour DOES NOT MATTER. It's silly to limit character customization options because of the reasons we've been given.
Master crafted don't matter to me honestly. They aren't really any better and if anything the person has hindered themselves by taking them due to the extra LP.
