View: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=dBNGvM5hMeM Looking back at SM, while its visuals weren't amazing, I can stand looking at it more than EC.
that is not "pure passion" it's made with years of work from professional animators with professional tools. the fact that they don't ask moneyand work for free is not equal to "pure passion, skill times and money are needed: they have payed with their time a lot of time.
One more addition to OP. This is an actual Power Fist of LSM Seriously, just 1 material + dirtmask for all that parts of asset? For the most powerfull melee weapon? bE, it's realy low-rate job.
Are those visuals amazing? No. However, they look like 100x the game EC does, I swear. This is coming from someone who never knew SM existed until I heard a few people talking about it here a while ago.
Its kinda shoddy in areas, but the idea is that you're looking from a 3rd person perspective while mauling scrubs. Problem with EC's visuals are, its very blurred, textures are all over the place and either blend in too much or just make it look like a mud wall. AA is done poorly, screen effects are messy, lighting effects are irritating, and environmental effects are terrible. Needs a huge clean up.
As far as I know its pretty cheap on steam if you want to get it and play through the single player,. Last I checked the multi-player is pretty dead. If your a fan of the 40k universe it will probably be worth it even if it dose have some issues with the story of the single player campaign. The melee and gunplay in SM is smooth as fk compared to EC (mostly because the devs on SM actually had time to smooth it out).
But seriously though, what the fuck is up with all these neon lights? They're eye burning and I dont think I've ever seen them in 40k artworks. 40k architecture needs to resemble this:
