And here I was, being excited about playing as a Skaven... Stupid man-things. Well, at any rate... as a WotR and attempted WotV player... well... From my experience their games tend to start out strong but it feels like they quickly lose interest and move on to other stuff. Let's hope they don't this time.
Some player perspective screenshots from the media section showing characters with portraits on the bottom & personal inventories on the right. Shows melee + ranged weapons, some sort of satchel, red potion healing probably, and a bomb. nature armguard + using a bow + a hood & mask + daggers (below) = totally an elf. Mighty feathers on his hat! Back view of the lady elf armor has small similarities to Dark Souls 2 promo cover armor. My only foray into Warhammer Fantasy was a long time ago in RTS game called Mark of Chaos and I don't remember much from that. Left 4 Dead was great fun, War of the Roses combat had good things said about it, it's Warhammer, and this isn't a mobile game. I'm excited.
Lady Elf looks totally like a Wood Elf, which I find curious since the End Times Elfs all converged into one race. I wonder if she's one of the rebels or maybe was just left behind... since I don't think Malekith's court got their stuff together yet and moved to help the Empire. On the other hand, those screenshots look promising... and I liked L4D and WotR a lot. If they give me a playable Har Ganeth Executioner or Sorceress I am so sold xD A German gaming magzine (I think it was PC Games but I might be wrong) recently did a preview on this and mentioned a female Bright Wizard and a male Witch Hunter as two of the playable characters. Also I spot a cross on the satchel... maybe the satchel is this game's first aid kit or defibrillator, while the potion is the short-term health pills.
I'm quite happy to play a Left-4-dead style Warhammer game. It looks quite interesting from the promo trailer and I'd love to see the final confirmation of classes. I would laugh if it came out before Eternal (Release Date) Crusade. I'll definitely be playing it.
The third character has been announced! It's a Male Empire Soldier named Markus Gruber who specialises in Heavy Weapons. http://vermintide.com/dev-blog-7-markus-kruber-empire-soldier/
I think I read this name before in some Warhammer fantasy novel. But I can't remember the name of the novel.
Found this nice talk about hands-on experience & seeing it play: View: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nXyOleoVEv0
