I liked the twitch. Changes to the melee are exactly what i wanted. 2 weeks from now we will see how the game stands. If the orks are great, its safe to say the game will be going in the right direction.
I think the community just wanted attention. Having gotten attention, people are now happy. Until the next meltdown, that is, like in a month or so (just guessing). Really, Behavior is incredibly lucky to have this community. If it wasn't an oversold WH40K game on broken promises, there would be close to zero members here right now.
They are lucky indeed, but as a huge 40k fan it really saddens me to see such gullible die-hard blinkered fanboys in a perpetual state of denial.
Having come from Dota (and Valve games in general) I think soon(tm) is the right way to put it. A hard deadline means crap gets pushed out the door, because if it doesn't the community goes all warp portal daemon hellspawn invasion on the forums due to a missed deadline. I think I would prefer something like a priority list: 1. Melee 2. Orks 3. Open World ... Yada #. Nerf Chaos Just to Piss off Galen .. Yada yada So, we know they are working on these features, and they are getting attention, but when something just won't work it doesn't have to be shipped duct taped just to hit a deadline.
Not a single feature in the UAT would I consider amazing or even a real step forward, just more minimal updates just in a larger quantity than usual. Nothing great, ground breaking or game changing. Minimal, and not that, that's inherently bad it's good they are updating but the way you hyped it and made it a statement like this changes everything is extremely misleading to those who are expecting some real change.
I`m not sure what exactly you would like to see. If we want to see some content we have to wait till patch right? There were things about weapon mods and some new wargear. They have explained that release is not pushed and there will be some players influence on the world. I agree that this wasn`t to specific but it is something, right? I suppose everything is about trust. If someone stopped trusted them whatever they could show on livestream couldn`t change this. Others that still have trusted devs don`t get any reasons to stop. Personally, the review made me really concerned. I was waiting for this livestream to see how they respond to community reaction. They explained some things so I belive it is enough to trust that they care. I don`t know if I`m right or wrong. I don`t think it really matters for the game future. What matters is I staying with my decission to give them my support. Still courple of days ago I started to be more critic about everything that is happening here.
They didn't say that they won't push it. When asked to delay the launch until the strategic elements are in, Nathan said: Sounds like the exact opposite to me, based on the English language. But it's not my mother tongue, so please correct me if I am wrong.
