Khraze saw the crazed berserkers run before him, they where allready lost to the nails, no coherence, they where barely a mob. He felt the nails biting into the soft flesh of his brain, willing him forward, he shouldent stand here, he had to advance, he had to ease the pain, he had TO SPILL BLOOD, HE HAD TO FIGHT. He now also started running for the lines, his chain axes reaved to life, allready the pain was easing a little, though it was still there, he had to fight, only andrenaling eased the pain. Damned nails, they where screwing his head, but he shouldent think now, it would drive them deeper. He crashed into the lines reaping his own bloody path through the defenders, their blood easing the pain, the fighting giving him feeling, he was alive again, when he killed, he gained speed, the killing driving him to futher slaughter, he wasent lost, but he was fighting, he was living he roared and his own battlecry left his mouth, SKULLS FOR TWELFTH LEGION", it might not be the usual cry, but he wasent lobotomised yet.
Karg-Zar and his troops have clashed into a tight spot, where only Infantry was capable of moving as they landed right on top of the inner and outer walls. Karg-Zar and Khraze further inside in comparison to the rest of their troops. While the Nurglites and Tzeentchians were send further south and west within the walls. From here they could fight their way inside into the command centers or decide to destroy any anti-air vehicles or stations they would make note of down there. Nonetheless there were still thousands of Soldiers in their paths which would give them one hell of a fight. Udius was still in his drop-pod, launching last. At least the orbital fight was going without problems in the Chaos' favor. Mayron has disabled most of the enemy ships already and readied his force for the first boarding maneuvers as the fighters started to approach each other in between the fleets among with incoming torpedos and lance fire.
Khraze revelled in this slaughter, the world eaters had been brutal even back when they where still the war hounds. SO many skulls, so much BLOOD, he cleaved left and right, his moves where not fluent, his attacks not gracefull or balanced, they where exatly what the nails wantet, over the top, constant and violent. He dident remember every strike, and the dust of the battle field was beginning to rise around them. ALLWAYS DUST, it was on every battlefield, often forgotten by memory, but allways there. Arg, the nails bit again, too much philosophy, he had to stop that, he had to fight harder. Khraze allmost started spinning in his attackes, his axes sometime hitting ground and wall, knocking out the teeth of his axes slowly, but he was covered in the blood of the guards, though they where many, they werent enough, he would need more challenge from heroes and champions, the nails promised him relief if he did that, so he had to FIGHT MORE.
"Kordius! Take the Rotten Three and begin clearing a path toward the nearest Command Bunker! Gelon take the Fly Host and silence the rest of their guns while I begin co-ordinating deployment of our Maggots. " The black cloud played out around him in an ever expanding circle as the flies propagated on the fresh carrion, smaller swarms breaking off to seek out the living to consume. Kordius broke from the Plague Marines side taking their nine most elite brothers forward into the thick of it. Bilespewer sweeping the streets in fatal toxins the Apostle of Nurgle forced troops into the cover of the surrounding buildings, leaving their support vehicles and slower heavy weapons teams without meat shields as more champions of the Fly Lord advanced. Missile launchers pounded tanks and building supports while bolters blew apart weak flesh. Men cried in pain, flies feasted and all the while Kordius belted out litanies of hatred that were answered by the Rotten Three's droning chants of Nurgle's various plagues, emulating the Plague Bearers of their master. Gelon took the remainder of their current task force deeper into the Anti-Air emplacements. Rallying their heavy weapons troopers into a single force they found themselves a superior position of fire and began unloading on the vehicles while those kitted out with Blight Spewers and Bolters split into small strike teams that marched through the trench works to deal with the guards and other threats.
Atlas and his men had finnaly regrouped the 3 squeads of space marines with there commanders and serivtorrs. already atlas could see 2 of the servitores missing but they would have to fight on. "Men we need to get to the command centers to weaken the ressistance. The codex astartes dictates this move as cut of the head and then kill the body. We must get to the command centers to weaken the guards moral even turn them agiasnt one another to join us" Atlas said this while under cover and to his men. Volus when we reach the Hq you get into there computers and steal any information they might have even lists on suspected pyskers and a least of techpriests. Also try to get us a map of there captital and defences." Atlas said this then returned fire inferno rounds at a postion of guards infront of him. volus nodded accepting the task. Atlas knew that volus would take pleasure from capturing techpriests and turning them into his own darkmechincus followers he also knew he would take pleasure in building more servitors for himself. the servitors gave supressing fire as atlas unleahsed a wave of doom bolts destroying much of the guardsmen cover and them in it. as the guardsmen where clear the teams began moving up in cover already meeting there nurgle allies. They already knew not to disrupt there plague rituals lest they earn the wrath of nurgle.
Another Guardsman fall to his swing. Another soul lost to his hunger. The Daemon stood atop of the ramparts, his great wings casting a shadow below. By now, there was no one left alive in this section of the wall and his Berzerkers went further down the line, attacking the entrenched positions that started to spread like a maze inside of the city. "Hear me foolish mortals!" somehow, his voice spread across the battlefield and into the ears of every PDF soldier in the city. "Your doom is nigh. The Chaos is the only true answer - look upon its champions and despair! But this doesn't have to be your end. Join me and you shall have everything your heart desires. Every wish you ever had will come true. Join me and you shall live forever!" Perhaps this wasn't the model how a Khornate Daemon would fight, however even more blood was promised to flow if the defenders turned against each other, not to mention it would be far easier to take this city that way. Karg-zar stood in his place, searching across the city for any stained souls and once finding them, he looked for their sins, nurtured them and bringing them forth. The Chaos will rule supreme!
~~ Orghast ~~ The Nurglites march was successful so far, slaughtering the enemy in the name and with the gifts of Nurgle. The acid and toxins tearing them apart inside and out. Skin falling off, guts exploding, screams of despair filling the buildings and streets. Though it would take much more to break the resistance of the fighting men. Despite facing death and knowing to not reverse the effects they were hit from, they opened fire with Las Carbines and whatever tanks remained intact. A Leman Russ Tank moved forwards, pushing broke-down Chimeras aside and firing with the main cannon upon the Nurglites. Obliterating two of them as they were directly hit. The forces of Orghast were now attacked on two sides from the Heavy Offensive Tank and the troops that spread throughout the buildings. ~~ Atlas ~~ The HQ seemed obvious for those who knew Imperial Structure. It was not the Governor's Palace, it was the bunker which connected via tunnels with all other important structures. And the Tzeentchian already had made out a Bunker, straight ahead, east from Orghasts position. All he would have to do is fight either through the streets or make a path through the buildings. On the streets he could already see barricades were constructed and a hundred men standing, all regular Guardsmen with engines in the distance around the corner, most likely used as flexible force to hit where required. They would more than certain used if Atlas decided for the streets. Though the buildings concealed the true numbers of foes and if regular Imperial Tactics could be trusted they would be full of elite soldiers, Stormtroopers in worst case even supported by Ogryns. Though what made the decision even heavier was that the structure was hit in such way that if they would advance through the streets, the soldiers within could not fire at them because the wall towards the streets collapsed and destroyed all windows. On the other hand, they may then either move against Orghast or surround Atlas from behind. ~~ Karg-Zar & Khraze ~~ The Soldiers were afraid, but elite soldiers among the newer ones kept them in check and Commissars shot those who were even thinking about shooting them. So far the propaganda was insufficient, so it seemed. Some were thinking about it but were afraid of instant death by their leadership. So they kept fighting, also to see how the fight would go. The chaos forces were outnumbered so far and if the vanguard could be stopped, then the entire fight could be easily won! They just had to make more time. And then as Karg-Zar and his force had silenced the area, from three sides Ogryn troops ran up to them. As stupid as Berserkers, as strong as Space Marines. "YO DA BAD MAAAAAN!" Their leader growled and ran up to them in super-human speed, shooting with his uber-sized gun, killing two men with some fire support. The Khornates were surrounded, but it was obvious they would win.... Nonetheless it would stall them and each second they would be halted and not taking out Anti-Air cannons was a second that could lead to their inevitable defeat. The Imperial Forces knew it and threw all they had against the enemy at hand. Yet it was much harder to mobilize an entire army against a Strikeforce than mobilizing your army against another army, after all they did not know what else was on the ground or if more of them would still land. ~~ Udius ~~ But the answer came fast as five more Drop-Pods clashed down right into the reserve lines of the Imperial Forces. Two of them were only equipped with Missile Launchers, aiming upon tanks and obliterating them. One was armed with a Dreadnought, equipped with Plasma Cannon, created by Grey Knight plans. The last two Drop Pods included the Chaos Lord and his retinue. All the troops he required were with him and the slaughter began the moment his Autocannon roared to life. The Reserve troops did not know what hit them until they were nothing but obliterated. The plan was working, but it still made Udius uneasy... Their contact had too much intel.... Knew too much... Gave it away too easily.
Kordius loathed the loss of his kin and directed the fury of their missile launchers on the Leman Russ to silence the metal behemoth. The others were forced into cover but continued their relentless march toward the troopers, their Lascarbines doing little more than scorch dead flesh as another row went down from a slurry of plagued toxins. They were starting to spread out and secure one of the flanks of the enemy HQ. Gelon continued to press the assault on the anti-air guns destroying a fair number of them and making the skies that much safer. "Brother Gelon, that is well enough for now! Go and support the Daemon's mob, keep them from getting mired in a worthless combat would you? " Such a polite request from such a terrible voice. Gelon sent out a command for those equipped with Missile Launchers to continue the assault while leading their Heavy Bolter and more traditionally armed brothers to the aid of the Khornates. Orghast oversaw all this from a wall, longing to join the fight but busy himself as he sent feeds of data to the fleet and his flag ship; The Call of Carrion. Swarms of cultist were loading up in Thunderhawk transports, preparing for their descent into the war zone below. "Flies One and Two drop outside the walls, we'll bring in a single large wave of reserves to break their lines when we need to. Remain in reserve with them, Brother Gelon has the call on strafing runs. Fly Three, bring the men in on Brother Kordius' position, provide him with as much fire support as possible, prioritize their armor, leave the flesh to rot proper. " Orghast watched as the Chaos Lords retinue made planet fall. "Correction. Fly Two move forward and support Lord Udius after you drop your cargo. " He sent the proper codes over to the Lord to let him know he had control of the Thunderhawk for now.
Atlas put a hand to his vox while under cover. "We will need to take to the streets anyone with anti armor be ready to react to armored units coming our way. Lets move Cover to cover." atlas said moving to cover with volus as they headed through the streets. Heavy bolters fired from the combat servitors supressing the guardsmen. while a few marines with heavy weapons readied themselfs for armored units other marines gave covering firing and shot guardsmen who dared break from cover. one marine threw a grenade taking out a group of guardsmen. Volus fired his bolter while he was besideds atlas giving cover to him as he reloded his bolter.
~~ Udius ~~ The Lord of Chaos acknowledged it and would make good use of the Thunderhawk, coordinating it to get guns blazing right into the Hydras, disabling the anti-air cannons of the vehicles. But only performing one raid so the Imperial fools would expect another raid which would never come. After that was done and resulted in three destroyed Hydras, he gave the control back to Orghast, having no use for the Thunderhawk Gunship any longer. ~~ Orghast ~~ Everything went according to plan. The Plaguebearers of Orghast destroyed every enemy, while only few of his soldiers fell. The enemy was pathetic and the outside forces started to make landing. Among with two Predator Annihilators which were sent and temporarily gifted to the Nurglite. The Tanks directly opened a hole in the wall, men which were upon them fell and died from the impact on solid rock on the ground. The others attempted to kill the Predators but were met by the cultists ranged fire. Udius knew to appreciate Orghasts command about vehicles and other heavy forces, just like he knew that Karg-Zar always appreciated some melee-focused Cultists which came to his aid via Valkyries which were painted in the enemy color. ~~ Karg-Zar ~~ Four Valkyiries hovered next to the walls, their ramps allowing the cultists to jump on the walls, surrounding the Ogryns. The ones in the center engaged Karg-Zar and his troop now, while the Khornate Cultists got stomped and sliced apart after the Ogryns realized they were the enemy, not the ally. Nonetheless the bloodthirst was greater than the fear the cultists had and rammed their knives, swords, axes and other weapons into the primitive bastards. Soon they would be gone and the Khornate could look for more enemies. ~~ Atlas ~~ The Sorcerer moved through the streets, directly met by a Leman Russ Tank that was aiming right at the Sorcerer. It shot but an Astartes of his threw him to the side, taking the shot instead. The Marine was dead, the Sorcerer lived. The Leman Russ suddenly exploded violent as an artillery shell hit it's rear and caused a chain reaction within the tank to doom it. It had been stolen Basilisk Artillery tanks, manned by Atlas' cultists which came down via Thunderhawk on a nearby supply depot, coordinating with the targeting systems of a single Sniper that had been in the Blood Ravens delegation quite a while. The advance would be much easier with heavy support from afar.
