I complained about the Bolter a long time ago, when I still received serious backlash for it. I am glad changes have finally happened, they were done well, not too little- nor too much. The (Big)Shoota still has to follow tho. But thats it. The weapon has received what it deserved, it's fine now. I don't mind jbregg playing around to maybe create a variant that is more fun but it needs no further adjustments balance-wise. If you want to improve balance at this point, look at the other assets and try to bring them in-line. You misunderstand "average" tho. I strongly doubt the average amount of kills in EC is greater than 10. And only the very best have 30+. I agree that this should look a lot different, based on how 'hard' the game actually is, but it doesn't. On a side-note: melee is in a difficult place. It's pretty much either "don't touch" or "full overhaul".
Ec has one of the lowest skill gap in the history of shooters and you still find it too high , hilarious
Skill gap isnt the issue its the lack of players that dosnt allow an mmr system Unless the entire game is turned into a rock paper scisor simularor the strongs will always have better scores than the weaks
If skill was the problem we'd be seeing 40-70 kill counters on all classes and all weapon builds. But it's not because we're just seeing the problem - and it is a problem - exclusively on the bolter, the only weapon with easily accessible legal exploits. Half of them aren't even exploits and next to none of them is/was used competitvely (or would be used competitively, if there was a competitve scene). Right now, all classes have their role. Ground-melee is lacking a bit but everyone else is viable. Tactical Archetypes are the ones for kill-farming but it's not enough anymore to carry against decent opponents.
