In what ways do the animations jank things up? As I approach 200 hours in the game, I'm starting to think that weird issues I've been having (mostly with melee) are less me needing to "git gud" and more an issue of bugs and "features" I haven't figured out yet and need to if I want to have a decent chance of gettin' stuck in. What sort of things should I be aware of, and what suggestions do you lot have for avoiding the problems they cause?
There is no real suggestion or solution. Orks are bigger, and their melee animations are just... clumsy. Sometimes attacks just seem not to connect, and their d-bash (the only one that is not a kick because they have short legs) is less reliable. If you play Eldar (fast, slim and agile) you clearly see the difference.
Oh yeah, melee on Eldar is great. Was just wondering because I keep having issues where I'll hit someone and they take no damage. (Like smack a tactical in the face with a charged PK, or a braced dev in the back of the head with a charged PK, and no damage or even interrupt in either case.) Very frustrating when trying to flank and I have a finite number of actions before I get mulched by enemy fire. Also, I've had a number of times when I'm swingin' on an opponent and he just casually walks away from me while firing and never gets hit. I can't seem to replicate this as the defender. What's the trick? Are some weapons just super vulnerable to it due to size? Also, is there a way to prevent attack queueing? Gets me killed more often than not. :/
Axe/Mace speed is terrible. (For Orks) And you'll only half charge a heavy attack before other factions will Dbash you (Which will somehow stun you, making you unable to counter Dbashes.) If your charging a Dbash with slower weapons, they -will- get a few damaging hits in before it pops and stuns them. the Klaw light attack seems rather slow. (Though that may be some lag, I'm not sure.) The Klaw no longer auto tracks targets in melee when you lock on. Meaning you can perioette around and hit someone to the side of you anymore, you just go the direction your facing. The PFist still lets you do that, however. Knuckles also feel slower to me, and I've gone on rampages with those killing fists in the past. (Do i did have a shoota loadout wiv a rite propa Goff fallback plan, do.) This could just be our slower animations mixing with slower weapons to make them super aweful. Like flying spiders! Most of my tips would be for the Clubba, but since it's not as- effective as a burny choppa, and way slower. I'll omit that until it gets better. An Ork's gotta 'av sum sekrits! It'z 'ow yer stay 'ahlive wen yer get inta a fight wiv anuva boy. Do, Az a Goff i'z need dem lookin' at me az an excuse. Ya lern quikk not ta go near an angry Goff. Jus' try an' point 'im at summot durable enuff to take der fustrashun! Or- not.
