Sometimes fast isn't fast enough those times are very common in Large open world MMOs when you can't catch are ride or your vehicle is too slow. Would it be too much to add another level of speed to all forms of transport? Sacrifice the ability to attack with guns and melee until the player/driver slows out of TS to attack would be a worthy trade off for having such an ability don't you think?
  2. Maybe reflect the different speeds your vehicle travels with the different speeds in tabletop?

I . e Combat speed - able to use all guns
Stationary - all guns accuracy significantly increased
Cruising speed - only secondary weapons
Fast speed - no weapons allowed
Turbo- boost = GOBBAGOFAST SANIC WOOOOOOOO (but if you so much as hit a twig you crash and burn)

It's only going to be a half-hour run from one side of the 'continent' to the other on foot, I don't think we really need super-OMG-fast vehicle speed on top of vehicle speed already. Do we?

That's rather small for an mmo don't you think?

Hey, I totally agree, but that's what has already been said when I asked how big it was. ;)

Yeah but is something like that really set in stone?

Most likely, as that is what they are using to develop all the maps and everything else. I can only hope that they realize it is too small of a scale to allow for any meaningful troop deployment, movement, etc, but right now, it looks like that's the way it is. So, with that, I'm viewing it less as large, open warfare, and more as a large scale persistent arena. :(
    Dark Knight likes this.

Too complicated, but I see where you're coming from in the TT. There should be a boost, IE shift, which makes your vehicle drive faster at the cost of your weapons accuracy.

    Vehicle boost should:
    • Be able to be used infinitely, no recharging bars
    • Take time to reach top speed (to prevent tanks darting in and out of cover)
    • Generate more exhaust smoke, sputtering flames, heat waves etc
    • Allow vehicles to ram at maximum damage when at full boost speed
    • Make all weapons on vehicle inaccurate
    • Make turning slower
There could be modifiers which effect weapon accuracy when boosting, modifiers which increase maximum speed (eg, red paint, master crafted engine, Adeptus Mechanicus blessings, etc).

Personally I think the addition of a booster for certain vehicles is perfectly reasonable. Land Speeders, maybe Rhinos, War-Trukks, and well, most Eldar Vehicles haha. That being said, I don't think there shouldn't be a boost to tanks such as a Predator or Killa-Kan. It just feels a bit too out of place for me, personally.

Also I agree that a 30-minute run from one of end the continent the other is quite small, but one thing you have to keep in mind is that they are planning on having multiple continents to work with. That means they are going have a lot of land to work with, which makes it a bit more understandable. I'd still like to see maybe a 45-minute run, but I don't know.
  10. The speed of a drop pod is like standing on top of a 10 story building and throwing a brick straight downwards.
