Eternal Crusade "launches" tomorrow (or today depending on when you read this). While most of know the rocky development of this game in the past couple weeks, it's incredibly likely that most of the people getting the game today won't. Honestly, I'm expecting a bit of a public (non-Early Access/Founder) backlash to this game. That's not the point of this post though... Given how long Behaviour has been working on this, how much progress has been made (they're not close to done, but they've been hauling ass), how open they've been with the community with both their successes and their mistakes, and dealing with the community when we've been support and ....not-so-supportive, I think Behaviour deserves at least some props. I certainly feel as though that, had I been in their shoes, I would have buckled under the stress of the situation; but instead they're pushing forward, doing what they have to do the best they can. I, for one, am quite appreciative of their hard work, even though I'm not 100% with the state of the game currently. To be absolutely clear, this is not a post trying to sweep their mistakes under the rug, to distract from the state of the game, or anything like that; things could have certainly been better at this point in time. But they also could have been much much worse. So let's give BE our best wishes that everything goes well (or as well as it can) at launch. So... Thanks for your hard work Behaviour. I'm not sure how things will go tomorrow, but I appreciate many of the things you've done. Good luck on launch day!
Yep, got my review all saved up and ready to post (didn't seem fair to review an incomplete game, they may yet change my mind)
I thought about writing one, but the state of the game can change so much in the next 24 hours. Given how much they're pushing patches these last couple days, trying to get the game as ready as possible for launch, I think I'd just have to rewrite a review.
I have some misgivings about the game here and there, but I believe the developers are giving their best. Best of luck to Eternal Crusade and Behaviour. The Emperor Protects.
I know your picture here is supposed to be inspiring and what-not, but I can only think of this when I see it:
Even though the game didn't turn out like I originally thought (missing Planetside 2 scale and stuff) I still wish them good luck and I am very excited about the future content. Will play this game like crazy!
