"I liked the previous world more." Was Alo's first words once everyone got their bearings after the portal. He readied his rifle, ready to snap at a target at first sight. He started to advance down the path, senses and wits peaked in this new gray world. He also kept an eye on the tracks of the previous groups come through here, if they deviated from the road or changed in any way. He didn't want to walk into an ambush.
Maesanai had stopped one moment before stepping through the webway gate, drawing a deep breath and focusing herself. This is your adventure, Skyblood, she thought. This is what you crave. A powerful pressure swelled in her chest, an anticipation she could barely stiffle, and she raised her foot from the ground and stepped through. The journey had begun. No looking back. The gloom of this new, stormy world greeted her. The young Void Dragon cast her eyes out in all directions, drinking in this new, alien world. "I liked the previous world more," she heard the Dire Avenger --- the one they called Winterheart --- say behind her. She laughed. "You surprise me more and more, Winterheart! We've only just arrived at a world that is every bit as grim and temperamental as you are! But fierce as well, I should think, and it surely bears hardy breeds of creatures," she observed, her own keen eyes falling down to scan the ground around them, before she raised them to follow the road ahead. "I suppose our path is laid before us," she remarked, glancing back to the others, before she advanced. "We need only the strength to follow it!"
Talis had smiled a little when the small Saruid came back over to him, and laid out the meat for him to eat before the gate activated. When it did he looked over it nervously and kept a hand on the hilt of his sword - and once through he looked around. A world much different than the first one, so the first thing he did was look for anything familiar or similar enough to the familiar. However, instead of taking off to explore he kept himself at the ready and nearby Avirelle and the Saurid. They each seemed to be nervous and sticking close to him, so it was only right that he returned the gesture and stayed close to them.
"And you sure love to run your mouth, pirate." Alo replied without looking back at Maesanai, trying not to let her irritate him too much. "Like you crave for attention."
"There are at least as many Pirates here as there are Craftworlders, karanye," Lysandriax growled, drawing a fancy sidearm but not yet aiming it at either the flying creatures or anywhere else in the landscape. Her body language made it clear that she wasn't about to point it at Alo, either. At least for now. The saurid sniffed. It paused, catching a scent, and sat back on its haunches. Closer to Talis than anything or anyone else, but still alert.
"Well there is no point in waiting around here for someone to show us around. Let's getting going already." The small drone moving ahead, sending back any information it gathered back to Faenkon. He surveyed their surroundings as well with his rifles scope before trudging ahead.
"Lysandriax, there is no need," Maesanai said kindly. "Though I love you for standing up for my honor, there is no need... nor am I insulted for being called by my true name," the young Corsair said, flashing a vibrant grin at Winterheart. "He is right to think that I want all eyes on me. I want every witness to know that Skyblood of Saim-Hann was here; we did our part. Though I believe you have mistaken my meaning; I named you fierce and meant it. You are a fine warrior, Winterheart, and nothing will sway my mind on that."
"This is...interesting," Vella said as she followed the others though the gate and onto a new world. It looked grim, dark and quite possibly dangerous, much to her own liking. Was the Sword they were looking for really here? The place was indeed quite well hidden so perhaps the artifact was indeed nearby. Only one way to find out. Ignoring the chatter, the Dark Reaper remained "locked" in her own behavior, her reaper launcher never leaving her hands. While others perhaps sought adventure here, Vella only sought enemies around them, the hud interface built inside her helmet scanning the surroundings by switching through multiple layers, heat-seeking, movement scanner and so on. If the rest of the party moved, she would remain at the back of the group, acting as sort of a backup in case things get hairy. If this world was indeed the resting place of the Sword, then she expected to soon meet some sort of a guardian that was at least a bit more dangerous than the little saurid creature they stumbled upon and which now decided to tag along.
Alo paused in his steps and glared at Lysandriax a moment before setting it on Maesanai. "First you provoke me at the village, now you praise me. Pick one approach and keep it. I have no patience to be toyed with." Winterheart held his stare a moment before turning his attention back on the road ahead. "...Damn pirates..." He muttered under his breath.
After exiting the gate, Onvar took note of the ensuring banter. He was relieved to see the Dark Reaper Vella proving focused on her task, as well as the most of his other companions. Suprisingly enough, the corsair captain named Iktomi stayed quiet as well. The unfortunate parting in the last evening might have left quite the scar. Either way, after verifying that the gate was truly still functional, he took a closer look what seemed to be some sort of well. "I find it probable that we can find clues about what we seek in those ruins ahead of us. Let us advance in caution. This world seems to almost certainly house some interesting forms of wildlife." After investigating the well, he took position next to the street, looking back at the group, obviously waiting.
