  1. I know, I KNOW. You probably dont want to hear doomsaying, you probably want to remain optimistic about the future of EC, I do too! But I cant. Releasing this game in less than a month is a death sentence unless they somehow do a years worth of improvement in that time. I LOVE Warhammer, Ive been quietly watching the progress of this game and its ups and downs and was looking forward to it being released, but not until sometime early next year at the very earliest!

This game is incomplete, and doesnt have half of the features that were promised early on (which burns people who backed it) and then doesnt have enough features to really justify paying for it on release (which spurns any new consumers). First Impressions are EVERYTHING and EC is going to make a very bad first impression. This is barely a playable experience still, and releasing it now is going to be disastrous. Lets go over the problems that need to be fixed in the next month.

-Weapons need to be rebalanced, far too many things are over or underpowered.

-Factions need to be fleshed out, 2 of the factions in particular are very barebones and occasionally buggy.

-Melee needs to be changed, the current iteration feels atrocious.

-Multi-Faction PvP needs to be implemented. Not the biggest deal but still a major selling point.

-Vehicles need a lot of work, they control badly and get hooked on the tiniest obstructions.

-Serious graphics optimizations, I know the game has come a long ways but it has a long ways to go yet.

-PvE needs to seriously be fleshed out.

-Way, WAY more maps need to be implemented.

-A guild system needs to be implemented.

-There just needs to be more "meat" to the game, it still feels like a tech test and there really isnt any variety whatsoever.

Any one of these problems could be severely damaging at launch, and it would be a Christmas miracle for them to have it all done by the 23rd. I foresee mediocre at best reviews, a lackluster launch, and then a slow agonizing death of hemorrhaging the tiny consistent player base it manages to cultivate. This is the "Last March of the Ents" here guys. If Bandai/Namco cannot be convinced to push back the launch date then there is an overwhelming likelihood that this game dies, which would be an enormous shame because the seeds of greatness are there, they just need an insane amount more polish to show through.

I know this sounds harsh, and Im sure people will fly out of the woodwork to tell me why these things "arent a big deal" but I ask you this. You are here because you want this game to succeed. What happens when the game needs to cultivate an audience that just enjoys playing fun video games is needed to survive?

Anyone have any ideas how we save the sinking ship?

Simply keeping the current warning when you boot up the game about it being in Alpha would be a good start.

Maybe add something that confirms that no, they did not simply forget to take that message out, the game did actually release in an Alpha test state and there is nothing the developer can actually do about it.

I don`t know if this thread have any sense. There was a lot of same discussions already and everything was said.
But here is my quick answer. I am not sure if ship is sinking. I think we are moving straight to dangerous group of rocks comming from the water. Hard to speculate what will happen but surelly ships captains shouldn`t take that course. No time to shut down the ship engines and turn... We can only hope we will get lucky and avoid damage somehow. What bothers me is captains never warned us about it and watching last stream they really looks like being a bit drunk, blind to a danger. "Hey ho! Ere we go through the shallows and edgy rocks!" they sing why the ship passangers are screaming...
There was idea on another thread to make a letter from community to BN asking them for more time. Players could write down under it. Although I think it can`t do anything i suppose it was the only thing that actually we can try rather then just idly screaming. I would gladly start writing it but I don`t think my english is enough for it. This idea didn`t meet with aplause and seems it was throw from the deck.
And all we have now is shouts.
"Omg!!! The rocks the rocks!!!", "Abandon the ship!"
"No no... There are no rocks there!!! Shut up!!! "Somebody throw those screamers outside!!! My head hurts!"
And the others just sleeping calmly under the deck.

Hmmm I was one of those that screamed bloody murder about stuff being OP or UP but recently I have noticed that it was that rage that was effecting my playing mostly. I have learnt now to let it go somewhat and it is actually helping me see things are not as bad as I thought. I just got myself that worked up about it I believed it was much worse than it really was and I realise now it is more my skill vs the skill of the opponent that decides if I want to throw my computer out of the window or not rather than the tools I'm using or facing. Not to mention I am having a lot more fun playing the game now than I ever did.

  5. Meh.
Whatever direction the game goes in is whatever direction.
Most likely it'll be underwhelming for 2 years than have some overhaul patch that puts the game back in the spot light and it'll be popular for a year.
    Other than that.. meh.
    Its just disappointing.

Thank you for the realism. I've been following this game for quite a long time and hoping dearly for its success.

However, development on important features has been tortuously slow, and all the complaining that happened on these forums (from generally patient people who are emotionally invested in WH40k and this game in particular) will be nothing compared to the negative reception it will receive from both critics and casual players.

Maintaining a decent sized player-base is the main issue, I think. The game may need to go f2p to survive. It simply is not worth paying for, and it doesn't seem that it will be any time in the foreseeable future.
