Kremnar Eranite pelted the guard with kraken round after kraken round, putting shots wherever the multitude of melee attackers swarming the enemy didn't stand or strike. Inwardly he doubted if any other shooter outside of a sternguard could do what he was doing now, but swatted the thought aside to concentrate on the battle at hand. Noticing that the guard's rapidly used his storm shield in order to fend off the multitude of attacks, the sternguard veteran didn't allow his lack of attacks impacting the body of the enemy to affect him. Instead, he used each shot to wear down the bulwark bit by bit. Kremnar watched as the Soul Smith smashed another of his chainaxe down onto the defense, before putting another three shots onto it, finally breaking the equipment. As the remaining brothers swarmed the now shieldless enemy, an instinctual feeling made Kremnar turn his attention just in time to see the autocannon rip up on him. Diving to the side, he barely managed to avoid taking a full volley to the chest. In place of that, his pauldron took a shot and pieces of it flew across the titan's massive shoulder. The sternguard veteran turned to see his battle brother's weapon smoked in his direction, while the enemy ruffled his hair. "What in the Emperor's name are you doing?" A deep anger erupted in his hearts; had one of their own, and Iron Warrior who honored his oath to the Imperium, turned his back at the eleventh hour? Tempted to fire on the terminator, Kremnar changed his mind the last second before rolling into cover. If the terminator had truly be lured into joining the enemy, then it would only be proper if the Soul Smith executes the traitor. Patching into the vox, he spoke to Brother Seth. "The one with the autocannon just fired at me Brother Soul Smith, has he turned to treachery as well?" Popping out of his cover, the sternguard veteran wanted to placed shots on the enemy leader, when a gust of wind with shrapnel in it blasted him back behind it, sending shards into his armor and flesh. Ignoring the pain, he leaned over the cover once the wind dissipated and fired once again, kraken rounds spitting from his dual bolters down range at the winged enemy plaguing their squad. @Beiolos @Colapse OOC: Balanced attack on Cautorious, defense on self. Equipment: 3/4 Kraken Bolter rounds, 1 Dragonfire round for bolt pistol.
Kharnak's mind went numb as he saw the winged spawn's helm. He started feeling kind of dizzy. Unable to realize whats is happening, he just kept triying to shoot down that devil. However, the dizzyness disappears as soon as it came, and realize he had been shooting at his brother Kremnar's back all this time. Covering as fast as his armor let him, he talked trhough the Vox. "Sorry brother, i didnt know what i was doing. The winged one seems to have some short of psychic power. Don't look at its head, or he may turn you too." Again, Kharnak started shooting to Cautorious, this time triying not to look to his face. OOC: Balanced attack on Cautorious, defense on self.
Hrmph. Once more, with feeling. I can do that. Marcus twirled his blade around briefly and pulled up his boltgun; the bottom right of his HUD flashed up orange numbers indicating his ammo count, along with the single violet '30' for his kraken bolts. Admittedly, it was almost habitual for him to change the colours from time to time; keeping to one thing for too long had it fade into being something he was used to and ignored. Still, the boltgun was raised with the kraken mag being slapped in and the bolt being pulled back to load in a shell. Marcus hadn't even wasted time in opening fire, giving off numerous three to five round bursts. God, help these shells land home and destroy this abomination in your name, to stop its advance upon the innocent. OOC: All out kraken attack on Cautorious
@DeranVendar Dyzek watched the form of Viatine explode with a burst of Vilhelm's lascannon, ensuring the swift warrior had indeed been dispatched completely. Confirming the kill, he'd turn his attention now towards the main threat, just as the gusts of wind swept across him. Perhaps more due to his style of fighting, perhaps due to years of riding torrents and other jetstreams into battle, Dyzek managed to avoid the worst of the incoming attack, several cuts already healing over due to his biology. Settling his gaze upon the multi armed abominations, his throat burning from the sheer proximity to this disturbance against reality, the Blackshield would begin moving, rushing about the hull of the titan to attack. Lacking the heavy armour of some of his brethren, Dyzek would instead reach to his hip, grasping at the single krak grenade that he'd scooped up from their meager resupply. Checking the fuse, he'd take a chance in the charge of his melee foes, to toss the explosive against this ascendant Emperor's Children. Whirling through the air, the projectile would seek out it's target, where Blackshield would hope it's detonation would do some notable damage. Hearing the exchange between Kremnar and Kharnak, he'd keep attempt to steel his mind and soul against this threat. Using his faith in The Emperor, he'd hope to keep his purpose and thoughts clear in battle. OOC: Balanced Attack on Cautorious with Krak Grenade, Defense on Self
"Don't listen to whatever that creature says and trust in your Iron and the Emperor to win us the day," Soul Smith replied to Krem before moving away from Emperor Children's burned corpse and towards the flying monster. He saw Dyzek's grenade flying and he waited for it to explode before moving in himself, saying nothing to the Centurion Ascendant as he swung both of his axes at him, wanting to try and slice one of its wings in order to prevent the corrupted marine for flying away now that he was going to get ganged on. OOC All out attack on Cautorious with Warsong and Gorehowl
While one enemy was obliterated by their concentrated fire, it was quite clear that their next opponent won't be nearly as easy to kill. For starters, he could fly, thus preventing a good half of their squad from attacking him. This also offered him a significant amount of mobility, but luckily not fast enough for Vilhelm to lose track of him completely. So while he was able to quickly shift his position, Iron Master still had good idea where traitor was, and was ready to face him. After an admirable, but taxing performance, the Lascannon wasn't of much use until it could cool down a bit, so Vilhelm had to switch to melee for the time being, ready to defend himself as he was the closest target, and thus likely the first to be attacked. Omnissiah Axe lit up with ghastly blue color of a power field the moment Iron Master gripped it, ready to parry and counter attack whatever blows might come his way. Vilhelm had little doubt that he wouldn't be able to stand his ground against this abomination, but he also wasn't alone in this fight, and while he could doubt his own ability against such odds, he certainly had no concerns about his squad's ability to tackle this threat. OOC: Half-action defense, parry with Omnissiah Axe, half-action attack with Omnissiah Axe, half-action shoulder-mounter Bolter.
The Curtain RisesCarolus and Doomrider corkscrewed through the air, curving halfway around the show below before jetting out straight ahead and crossing in front of the titan's head. Ascending champion of Slaanesh twisted about in his saddle, bolt pistol raised and spewing burning rounds towards the Iron Warrior Land Speeder. Carolus jinks above initial chain of shots, smoking holes in the prow attesting to the penetrative power of whatever Emperors Child is actually firing at him. Twin assault cannons weighing down front end chew off dozens of shots in tightly controlled burst, warrior doing his best to keep up with the flying bike and its mad rider. Doomrider drifts across burning road and flips his progress into a hard reverse that causes warp flame to belch out the exhaust. Tails of flame erupt bright and wide with an accompanying cacophony of tormented screams and powers bike into an attempted head on collision with the skimmer. Below the entirety of Terra tilts in the eyes of the Forty-Fourth as Knight of Terra takes a lumbering step back onto nearest bridge: commencing the next stage of the retreat into palace proper. Cautorious throws out his arms and spins in place, back curving back as he admires the chaos that plagues planet's surface and choice of subjects. Sudden stillness champion fixes his gaze upon Dyzek. Narrow slants of perfect golden eyes seem to pierce the Sergeant's very soul as his stance briefly flinches. "Shut the World Eater up." Like Kahrnak before him the so-called Iron Khan twitches and flicks primed krak grenade straight at Seth. Explosive sails toward the Terminator whom throws his weight to the left and leans charge slightly off course to evade. Blast blows out an insignificant chunk of the walker's shoulder and snaps the Iron Warrior back to his senses. "Tut tut..." Glaive lances toward Seth and blade shoves itself deep into his arm, restraining Gorehowl but leaving Warsong free. Burning axe carves across chest, unable to reach wing while caught by the monstrosity. Breastplate splits and bleeds faint light, Soul Smith looks up upon hearing another crack and seeing that the warrior's mask had re-arranged into a visage of sneering contempt. Glaive is ripped free with a twist that nearly drags Chaplain off his feet. Cautorious flaps away and twists straight into a cross-fire from their ranged weapons. Bolts of several patterns and classes pecked at the servant of Slaanesh. Smooth sloped pauldrons were turned into ruined craters and more slivers of silver scattered across the titan in the face of repeated strikes. Cautorious' expression remains a sneer, despite the damage wrought to his form. He chooses to rise higher like an angel of righteous fury wrought in white stone above them all, measuring each shot and mentally writing an ever expanding list of grudges. When Kahrnak's autocannon begins weighing into the fray Centurion descends. "You!" Swooping towards Marcus Cautorious sweeps his saber forth and hacks into Apothecary's abdomen. "Fall upon my subordinates with heart and blade steeled, yet quiver and spit little more than embers at range? For shame! Shame!" Herchel jogs up with hammer raised, glaive spears back as if the veteran were little more than an afterthought. Hammer catches curved blade through its head, edge biting into the metal itself with such accuracy and ease that it seemed deliberate on their foe's part. Herchel is forced to withdraw a moment later, swiveling towards Vera and moving up to support the Sister as she becomes embroiled with a stray Vanguard Veteran attempting to eviscerate her with lightning claws. Nathiel beats his brother to the punch, own hammer breaking the traitor's legs before the woman blasts head off with a point blank bolter discharge. Kahrnak's heavy weapon is catching up by now. Shots clip a leg, narrowly breaking the warrior's stance. Peacock splays both blade and pinions like feathers and turns on tips of toes to meet the Iron Master's extended power axe. Sword catches against and deflects both arms wide. Right arms recoil in preparation of another stab, Cautorious lets out a curt laugh and flips over Vilhelm. Several autocannon rounds cause Techmarine's armor to erupt in a spray of sparks and chipped plating before Kahrnak lays off. "You make a finer ally than the so-called Iron Khan; I salute you Corpsegrinder!" Glaive is flourished and waved towards the Terminator whom has been so unfortunate as to hit his own comrades twice now thanks to the Phoenicianite's skills. One of Kremnar's bolts skims deathly close to Cautorious' mask, briefly earning a glance. A flicker of wings sends a spray of piercing barbs into the loyalist, piling on more cuts to both battered flesh and crumbling armor. The searing pain that sliced into his gut caused the Apothecary to instinctively roll back with a hand at his wound; instinct drives him now as he uses the narthecium. A glance at the HUD's vitals allowed him to see who needed it most; after stabbing at himself, he rushed over towards the Sister and gave her an injection of rejuvenative fluids as well, hoping that her smaller physique would make good use of such things made for Astartes physiology. Close enough to a human, he supposed. OOC: Healing self and Vera
@DeranVendar Dyzek lurches forward, momentarily off balance as his mind clears from the haze imposed upon him by this abomination. Quickly finding his footing, Dyzek feels bile rising in his burning throat, as he finds his tempo once more, quickly taking steps forward towards his foe. Seeing as his explosive was now wasted, and he doubted fire would do much damage to the preening prima donna, and thus, he'd need to close in to rip him apart with claws instead. Talons glowing as he brought them to bear, Dyzek would seek to join Seth in his melee against the chaos enhanced being, perhaps hoping to atleast divide it's attention, when a combination of strength and speed came before it. OOC: Balanced Attack on Cautorious, Using Trait: Rising Winds, to confer re-roll on attack.
Kremnar Eranite watched as the Emperor's Child fought in melee combat with the rest of his squad, and waited for an opportunity for a clear shot. He didn't respond to the vox from his new clear headed brother, concentrating on the fight at hand. This Cautorious liked to talk, but he also focused on his immediate targets, rather than the battle at large. The sternguard veteran would take advantage of this as much as possible. Thus, when the enemy finished with the melee portion of his fight and flew up again, he lined his sights up with the traitor and unleashed a storm of kraken bolts at him. Evidently, others had the same thought, as several different bolt rounds from different direction converged upon the enemy leader, inadvertently creating a kill zone in the air. Many of the shots from the sources found their target, and Kremnar watched with satisfaction as he watched his kraken rounds blast much armor and even some flesh off of the troublesome enemy. Even as the titan shift and the world began to turn slightly, he simply adjusted his own fire so that his shots remained on target. The sternguard veteran popped the two clips out of his bolters before slapping another two clips of the anti armor ammunitions into them. Redirecting his sights again, he just caught the pink former astartes flipping over their Iron Master, causing the autogun trained on him to land on the techmarine rather than on target. Sighing, Kremnar barely resisted shaking his head at the firing discipline of his terminator brother as he aimed a shot at Cautorious's head. The mask on him had been annoying, to say the least, and perhaps without it, he would lack the capabilities to turn the minds of their brothers once more. Kremnar squeezed the trigger, launching a bolt that barely missed due to the target shifting away at the last moment. However, it did catch the attention of the enemy, who quickly retaliated with another swoop of his wings, sending shrapnels over to him, pelting his armor and flesh and forcing him back into cover once more. The sternguard veteran waited patiently as he would with any other enemy, counting down the seconds when the attack would subside so he could pop out and fire once more. When it did, he would again train his weapons on the enemy leader, firing sparing shots in order to maximize precision and accuracy. OOC: Balanced attack on Cautorious, defense on self. Equipment: 2/4 Kraken Bolter rounds, 1 Dragonfire round for bolt pistol.
