Honestly Ork tech is pretty dang crazy. Teleporters, force field generators (that they shoot instead of use for themselves). I love reading the old lore books and seeing all the crazy civilizations that Orks raise up.
To be fair, it's not as if they actually "invent" all that stuff. The singular technologies are hard-coded into the genes of the mekboyz, and they just randomly combine the stuff in their inventory until they get something that does not explode in their face. Thinking of it, life for a Mekboy must be like a Monkey Island style point and click adventure come true. Actually, why the hell is there no game like that?
hell they like stuff that explodes good, even if its in their face, as long as it makes a big hole that takes alot of the planet with them!
Whether or not it's hard coded into the genes to be mekboyz, there's plenty of stories of them making new technology whether it be the inspiration of a titan, orkifying certain weapons into far better (if slightly more explosive) variations, or redesigning a space hulk to be a very big set of squig pens.
