Can you not see the restrictions that would force on people. Can you not see how people will not like such stupid restrictions in an MMO. Can you not see that is basically giving journalists like IGN or Kotaku ammunition to criticise EC or deter any non-wh40k fans... Oh but wait, why should person who said this: Care?
Restrictions on customers is always a great way to piss them off and gives them a reason spread negative press and opinions which hurt the product. What good is lore if its fans are too stubborn to make exceptions for others not so enlightened in its intricacies and would rather strangle everyone who tries to come near instead.
If you take anything that IGN or Kotakus says as reliable then you are their demographic because they only badmouth games that dont pay them for better reviews. But anyways you arent even seeing this from the outside. Any restrictions that are put in place for lore-reasons WILL NOT BE NOTICED by newbies who dont know the lore, therefore it will only matter to the fans who will prefer it. If you dont restrict it then new people will play and never even care, they wont say "thank you BE and GW for letting us do this for no reason" because they wont give a damn
I have been here since the very very beginnings of this project and its forums and know far more then you about it. But this is hopeless go ahead and strangle this game's community if it makes you feel like a "DEFENDER OF LORE".
The vocal minority are whining about names and just like most MMO developers, these ones are going to cater to the vocal minority. Yes I see the poll results which is why I call it the vocal minority. Most people that don't care about names aren't even going to read the thread. In fact the only reason why I checked on it here was because of the thread in the founders forum. I refuse to believe there are that many people that will be playing this game that are so pathetic. I really do.
