The thing about GW is that they rarely specifically retcon anything. At all. With very few exceptions. 'Half-Eldar' being one of these exceptions - they're now impossible due to the completely different genetics of the two races and happened at the same time period in GW life as the Eldar Captain in the Ultramarines. (That's the kind of thing that used to happen.) God-Emperor only knows what a Haemonculus could cook up in their lab but I suppose they could splice and dice a few genes if the fancy took them. That's about the only legit way to get some kind of hybridization but they'd be sterile. PS I'm only saying this because @Uriel1339 can't mention my name without tagging me, you must do entirely as you see fit I will not butt out and allow you to enjoy your game, which sounds awesome but which I can't honestly say I will have the time to commit to ask to join. Not half but former lol. So maybe he has limited ammo. Does the arc weapons have specialize ammo? And one rifle does not make an army or even a squad. Another idea for weapons was a Arc Pistol and a Transonic Sword/Blade. @High_Adept_Zeth @Donairian
The 19th Valerian regiment is meant to represent guardsmen from all different kinds of regiments lumped together into what is essentially the Imperial guards skip for nearly depleted regiments. So feasibly you can get a tech guard in there as well as the only requirement for it to be plausible is that your old regiment got obliterated and thus you as one of the few survivors were folded into the 19th. So yes go for it. Honestly I am surprised how much unorthodox characters I have gotten in this RP already, I mean I was expecting conventional auxiliary forces but not this. former Skitarii, Eldar/human hybrids and almost a blank. I am tempted to roll with it just to see what happens but I will drop characters if this gets too ridiculous.
After HH...there is no such thing as "former Skitarius" since most of the Tech-Guard are data-tethered to their Techpriest masters.There is a case of a few retired Skitarii Tribunes...but that's rare.You can pull that you got seconded to planet Artemis for protection of both valuable personnel and assets.Tho...both are assets in Mechanicum. That's the problem with Arcana Mechanicum.Most weapons given to the Tech-Guard are both rare (outside of Mechanicum that is) and highly destructive.Its difficult to make a Skitarius outside a Skitarii Legion that still uses Arcana Mechanicum weaponry.You could do...tho none elaborated this,that Techpriest Oglesby can supply you...but he hardly has a proper research equipment.I guess you could use the uber-awesome Transonic Sword/Blade...but Arc weaponry...well...see for yourself: Taken from Codex Skitarii.So unless there is a premacapacitator around... Therein lies the problem this is a regular guard regiment not a tech guard regiment, part of me wants to allow you to keep the rifles but the other half of me thinks its more reasonable to have regular Galaxy pattern lasguns. In any case having OP weaponry may not be so good to the story anyway as war of the worlds follows a set theme that I intend to follow, for that purpose I am going to go with lasguns, its more in keeping with what war of the worlds in 40k would be about.
Ok well, this interest thread is still very much developing as it appears I am still waiting on some more people before I can conceivably begin the RP in order to mitigate the chances of certain people dropping out in the middle of the thread as soon as I start it. I think I ought to wait a few more days just to see who else might join if that is ok.
My only personal demand is: Don't let the specials be better straight-out. Just because @High_Adept_Zeth gonn play some super techie soldier guy, he should be no better than my regular guardsman per se. Perhaps better combat skills, but perhaps personal interactions are not as well received. Whereas my guy as GI Imp probably has no problem fitting in with the people. Oh and obviously specialists are going to be more priority targets, eh? ^^ My game designer within me just demands balance! ^^
