So what did you guys think? I have a lot of thoughts on it, but can't organize them right now while I haven't ate, but i'd like to hear opinions.
Kinda disappointed the model didn't have a cloak/robes or any scrolls or trinkets. Unless you look closely at the helmet or backpack, it's largely indistinguishable from tactical marines. I know they said you will get that stuff as you gain experience, but I expected even a day one, level zero sorcerer to be more visually distinct.
I will have to wait until the Stream has been loaded to Youtube before formulating an opinion. Waiting...
Livestreams up! It's not really a deep thought, but I like how the vents are dragons heads. That and, while they look good on the Word Bearers, I can't help but feel that would look a lot cooler on Black Legion, I want to see their sorcerer models.
I still find that statement concerning, "some offensive abilities but your main role is to make Tacticals and such better." Naturally the raptor will have an advantage in melee due mostly to the fact they can fly, charge and use their pack to maneuver, even if they had the same melee skill, or they have the Storm Shield or equivalent so they have available things to have more options. I maintain my concern that the Sorcerer being a support oriented unit means it's going to be nerfed offensively, and I highly disagree with this strong possibility. Given the advantages other classes for weapon customization, skills and such, I hope they don't choose to make the sorcerer's offensive stats inferior on the baseline. Also, I maintain that we should have a rather diverse array of offensive abilities. Not overpowered, just individually being able to contend with other units. As for compliments, I like the base model and the visual direction. Still not enough info to truely assess the abilities though.
Agreed, though I will say on the information front, that at least all the spells they mentioned were offensive in nature with Warp Lighting and Warp Fire likely being direct damage. So hopefully that's an indicator of a strong offensive base.
still not a fan of the "horned helm" look and jamming a tiny skull between the horns tips hasnt made it any more attractive to me, a full shame that there was no "powers" shown and the model was just a modified apothecary place holder
Well the Horn style of the Sorcerer is just the base, so that doesn't concern me. It's not my favorite either, so I'll simply be replacing it later on.
Coming to think more on your point Dokta, you know what i'd like for us to be able to make? Like, a coven of Aspiring Sorcerers in one squad, that would be pretty awesome. But not having a decent offensive output would be a big punch to forming something like that.
