<Bhann> It wasn't that she hated her kin. No, not really. She had friends back on her home craftworld who she still conversed with when possible. And it wasn't that she was really dying to get into combat. But Bhann was bored out of her mind by the level of patience Craftworld warfare included. She had been slowly accompanying the warhost of the Autarch for a while now, driving her jetbike on ground level and moving at walking pace. She could practically feel it cry out in humiliation. The former Windrider wanted to tear her red hair out, frustrated. Trailing behind the main force for a bit had the advantage that she could occasionally see things, and when she saw this Autarch person jump onto a jetbike, her eyes widened slightly in expectant anticipation. Curious, she accelerated past the other soldiers, both Alaitoc and Sky Raiders, until she reached a Corsair who the Alaitoc Autarch had just conversed with. Looking down at the red-eyed Eldar, she greeted her comrade with a slight psionic salute. "What's this about? I saw an Autarch on a jetbike. Do we get to fight yet?"
<Aurelius> "Sergeant Aurundur, you're in command until I return." The tactical Sergeant salutes, then walks away as the Thunderhawk slowly lifts off from its berth, its MkVII engines working flawlessly for once. On board the Thunderhawk, Force Commander Aurelius reviews the little bit of information the Sable Swords had on the planet. <Saranthir> Viewing the carnage below, Sara quickly picks out the two Ork bosses. She thinks for a very short cycle, then turns toward the assembled group, the coming fight and her excitement for it being shown, her force sword crackles in its sheath, eager to be unleashed on the unsuspecting Greenskins, her eyes gleaming in the midday sun as she addresses the soldiers under her command. "We need to end this Greenskin rabble's fighting quickly and quietly, the last thing we need are more Orks gathering here. Mount up, I want the tanks in reserve, the primary strike force will consist of the Avengers and the Scorpions. The Reapers will engage the bigger Orks and bring them down to sow confusion in their ranks and the Shining Spears will ensure that none leave this place alive." As the soldiers prepare themselves by donning their war masks, the Autarch turns towards the Rangers "I was told their would be three warbosses here, and yet I see two, the third must be here, find him and eliminate him." With that done, she draws her sword and points it at the two Corsairs "You two, Venus and Bhann, you're with me."
((Zcee Nook, unfortunately there is no Imperial Guard force on the planet. Also, guys, feel free to NPC the Orks and Warbosses. They're not particularly important to the story and if you want to write your own epic one-post fight scene and kill them, feel free. On a final note, I remember someone PMing me, inquiring about making a Lord General Militant. I believe that profile is due today, so I think we'll keep the Imperial Side a little quiet until he joins with it. )) The Ranger "I have my men scouting the canyons. It is possible that a small Ork force is here, hidden in the rocks, but the force is unlikely large enough to pose any significant threa-" he was cut off by his communications crackling to life. "Ranger Enetes, we've found a small group of Orks traversing the canyon. Three of them - what are your orders? They do not seem aware of the presence of our force, most likely they are scouts of some description." The Ranger kneeling by the Autarch quickly considered the situation, then relayed his orders: "Silence them. We cannot risk them discovering our presence. Once it is done, search them for any intelligence you can. Such scouts just may have crudely drawn maps that can aid us." Within seconds, a single round of fire from the two rangers on reconnaissance killed all three Orks; one pull of the trigger killing one, the other felling the other two in a single stroke. "Greenskins have been eliminated," one reported, as he stood tall atop the canyon, with the sun directly behind him. The fourth Ork stared directly up at the Ranger on the Canyon top. He blinked foolishly, not entire sure what it was he was seeing until he could make out the sunlight bending around the shape of a man. The three dead Orks nearby certainly didn't make it difficult to realize something was nearby, either. "Oh ballz," the Ork complained, before turning and running before they could shoot him too. The Ork Around five, perhaps ten minutes later, the Ork Boy was yelling loudly as he ran up towards Big Mek Bigzzap. "Boss! Boss! Deys got invisibil shiny Gitz dat I aint never seen before! Dey killt Toothy en One-Eye en Squigboy! Dey almost gots me too!"
<Big Mek Bigzzap> "Wot? Zoggin, deys too close fer me likin..lets get da rest uv deese gits down dere. Roll up all da boom guns we got an bring me mah Big Yella. " Shame about One-Eye, could of made a fine Kommando probably, his tribe had a few of those gits and they held a special place in his scabbed squig of a heart for being useful, even if they weren't that Orky. Within moments the artillery, even those that had been bought and turned on the fight below, was saturating the canyon with fire. Sharp objects, rocks, skull, explosives and sploding zzapy squigs rained down through the pass and on it's walls. "DATZ RIGHT BOYZ! SET YA GIT FINDAS TO PANSY! " The Ork patrol from earlier ran up with the bosses Big Yella, a yellow magna-vox caster that was painted such as the Mek believed it made his voice explode out with even greater volume.....not that it needed the help. "WAKE UP BOYZ ITZ TIME FER FIGHTIN! WEEZ GOT NOT-GREENIES IN DA CANYONS, KRUMP EM AN STOMP EM! BRING ME DA BEST BITZ AND YOOZ GET DA DED KILLIEST DAKKA I CAN MAKE!" Bigzzap's voice echoed across the desert plains and down the canyons even further, his high up position and the benefits of his booming voice making sure everyone knew exactly what was going on. Just to hammer the point home.... "WAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAGH!" That should do it, he thought.
OOC: For once work quite busy here, writing in mah lunch break, next post can take a while... <Venus> "Whatever you want from me, Autarchy. Always ready to kill!" Venus had a dirty smirk within her helmet, readying her Shuriken Catapult. The news of the rangers were somewhat exciting - Finally some Ork killing! They were so stupid, even Mon'keigh could win against them. OOC: Sounds after Mechaius or Cody lol.
<Bhann> "Well, let's get on it, then. You're intending to drive via Jetbike?" She nodded towards the other one, Venus, she assumed. "Do you have one? I wouldn't deny a sister a ride... but then again, there are many jetbikes like this, but this one is mine." The corsair put on her helmet. She abhored the feeling, but her head was better protected with it.
"I can pilot all and everything!" Venus replied and jumped over into the Jetbike. "Do we even have enough gunners or do I have to take care of that myself? I knew quite a good Gunner from Mymeara - And he looked good too!" The female Eldar chuckled.
"Hubris? I like that." Bhann moved forward, following the Autarch closely and keeping at her flank. She wondered what kind of slaughter would await her - but she was already happy at the prospect of beheading Orks while flying past.
<Saranthir> As the Big Mek's guttural screams are heard across the canyons, and the Orks join in, the sound crescendos and the fighting intensifies below the Eldar. "Oh no, the Rangers must not have killed them all." The Autarch's anger at the failure can be seen in her face, her hair begins to fan out as if the wind was blowing and her sword glows brighter than ever as she unsheathes it and mounts her bike. "Khainedammit! We need to destroy this force below before they realize we are here and we have to fight three unified warbands instead of two warring ones. FOR ALAITOC!!" The Autarch plunges into the nearest group of greenskins, her Shuriken catapults paving a path of blood through them as her charges plunges into the back of the greenskin warband led by the big one with the hammer. Above her, the Dark Reapers unleash their withering fire, and the bigger Orks begin to drop. The tanks remain silent, no single target being worth their effort yet, the technology of these feral Orks not requiring their heavier firepower. <Aurelius> The Thunderhawk lands gracefully (OOC: you know, for a mon-keigh vessel) inside the hangar bay of the Inquisitor's Cruiser, the Force Commander stepping out and addressing his welcoming party. "Greetings, where would I find Inquisitor Annihilus?"
"Let's do this, sister!" Venus yelled over to Bhann as she boosted forward, the twin-linked Shuriken Catapults ready to be unleashed upon the primal foolish Orks!
