A disgusted Terrinel covered her mouth and nose with her hand as she joined her co-refugees in wading through the disgusting sludge of this town's sewer system. This desperate bid for protection from the smell (and sometimes, as she noticed with utter horror, taste) of the wretched passage was of course futile, but the elf still assumed that it was better than nothing.

Following close after Wolfker, she was glad that there was little for her to throw up, or she likely would have. But the sweet hope for freedom was still a powerful incentive to move onward.

OOC: We've already in the sewer level? Aren't we underpowered compared to the level 6 Giant Rats?:p

Rebuked by the gate guards, it still seemed as if someone had had some success in getting in via the sewer and so he skulked off to sneak in their too. The stench was the first thing he noticed, sweet Sigmar the stench! He hadn't smelled anything this bad since the Reik damn near dried up, leaving the capital's main method of sewage extraction disfunctional. Still, Jürg soldiered on, breathing through his elbow to somewhat mask the air. The kid he had helped across the trek, about 5-6 by his guess, followed him. Occasionally when there was a jump or something that was too much for the brat he would help him across, but mostly he relied on the child not getting itself killed.

Cautiously, the group moved on, and ever inward. For many of the group, the stench of the sewers brought what little food they had in them soaring back outward.

Trudging their way through the filth, the prisoners found themselves at an exit from the sewer--a small hole in the ground, covered by a metal plate.

''Alright, let's shift that thing and get the hell out of here,'' Daveth said. ''Any volunteers?''

Branner looked at the possible exit, then at the girl he helped carry next to him. He said to Daveth, "I don't think I have the strength to lift that thing, but if you get it open and need another guy to sneak out and see what's going on outside, I can help again."

    Wolfker-
"I can help get it open!" Wolfker said helping by volunteering to help prying the metal plate. As he came by he looked to the plate and then looked at his hands a bit. "May need some help though." he said as started to try to pry it with his hands.

    Into The Streets

Daveth moved in to place, to aid Wolfker. The iron plate was heavy, and their limbs weak from a combination of the journey, and their starvation. Eventually, though, it opened--albeit begrudgingly. The plate ground across the stone floor, and moonlit illuminated the prisoners once more.

Climbing from the sewers, Daveth took note of his surroundings. They were in a back alley, dark and desolate. The city was hushed, though the odd sound of footsteps or chatter interrupted the silence.

Sending Branner on ahead, Daveth waited for the whole group to emerge before helping seal the sewers again. Branner returned with news of the surrounding area, and of anything else he had seen.

''Come on, everyone out,'' Daveth said. ''We need somewhere to stay, somewhere safe. Based on what Branner has seen, these are our options...''

    Vote Time!
Time for our first in-thread vote. I'm going to give you a few options for a place where we can try to set up base, and you get to choose which. Your response, as well as any questions, should be in RP form.

    Options:
    1. Abandoned warehouse.
    2. Broken down, abandoned hose (two-storey).
    3. Cellar of the local inn.
Once a choice is made, I'll add the location to the google sheet map, and fill in the immediate area based on what Branner saw.

Branner explained the three possible location for the group to take refuge, then as he made his way back to help the girl once more, weighed in with his opinion. "The cellar of the inn would attract too much attention, with the amount of people we have here. If it were only two or three of us, it would be viable option. However, there's no way for us to sneak the amount of food needed to properly feed all of us without the innkeeper or the staff not noticing. So as attractive as it is with its ready food source and warmth, I would pass on that one."

"The warehouse would attract less attention, and it's ready built so we wouldn't have to do any handy work around the place. The other warehouses around would make the neighborhood ideal for us to hide out, for now. However, this also presents a problem in terms of gathering food/cooking/bathroom duties/etc. While we can probably make due with improvising these things in the beginning, once we're more stable in the city we'll probably have to move again."

"Which leaves us with the abandon house, my personal vote. It has the least to offer up front, we'll definitely have to fix the broken windows/doors/walls to at least properly insulate it within the first night or two, and it's not as inconspicuous as the warehouse. However, it allows the most room for growth. We shape the place as we see fit, eventually even expand the house if our numbers grow, not to mention even creating a yard of some sort for a vegetable garden as a private food source or some other use. It should be right in the middle in terms of ease of food acquisition, so it might take a bit of elbow grease, but we can make it work."

OCC: This is all base on speculation btw (some less than others), please let me know if I'm incorrect on anything @Akragth and I'll edit.

    Wolfker-
"I agree with Branner Not only that but the house provides a possible escape root or way we can by some time if we get into a real mess Barricading stares could help if anyone is in a chase and the upper part of the roof can be used to watch and see if anyone is coming." Wolfker spoke up adding to Branners vote.

"And a house will give most everyone at least some measure of privacy, with any luck some food and drink might be found too." Jürg's vote was quite clear, but in the privacy of his thought's he found another reason: Going through that sewer wasn't the healthiest of things, and he was sure that at least one person would be sick after that fiasco. After all, everyone knew that the bringers of the pest were harmful vapors. Rooms would give them a better quarantine then the warehouse.
