Temvero stood, holding the flank with his bolter... but then he saw the Daemons heading directly at Draconion. Quickly, Temvero tossed the plasma grenade Feron had given him earlier into a pack of daemons, falling back to cover his Chapter-Brother closely with his power sword, firing at approaching enemies with the bolt pistol. He felt a twinge of guilt for the loss of Roland, but now was not the time to focus on it, lest he fall to chaos as well.

Tempestus let the flames hit him as he then concentrated on pushing foward leting as much of his psychic might out to make a zoan of null energy to make an area the daemons couldnt walk "we need to take out the leader on the next level closing the portals wont work there are to many" as he spoke he sent a wave of warp fire into the closest pink horrors "draconion it will take to long and drain you to much"

So close to the epicenter, com channels were down and no message went through. There would be no help arriving, that was certain. Of course, little did Draconion know that his kinsmen, alongside pretty much every other Space Marine on the Station including Flesh Tearers was besieged by a horde of daemons who began spawning all around the place, throwing Loyalists on the defense and threatening the outcome of the battle. Everything was in Team's hands now, the victors or losers will be chosen beneath the strikes of their blades.

Falling back to Draconion, the other two Salamanders proved that the sons of Nocturne despite the odds, remain together till the end. Feron became a true dervish of death, going left and right and swatting daemons aside with his relic weapon. Dozens of them died beneath the blows of his relic hammer but for each ten of them who died he suffered another wound that slowed his reaction time for a fraction of second. Temvero on the other hand, annihilated a swarm of Flamers with his plasma grenade while shooting couple of Screamers out of the sky, rinse and repeating that until the place was so packed with daemonic tissue that he didn't even have to aim anymore. But similarly like Feron, his artificed plate began to show signs of extensive damage, parts of it becoming fused to his skin while other parts simply melted away.

As for Draconion himself, his sudden increase in power had two effects. With the mighty display of his powerful intellect, the skeins of time and space were put back together and the portal in front of him was closed, cutting three Chaos Spawns in two as they were about to enter realspace. It was a shallow victory, for if he wanted to win he had to do the same thing - six more times. However, as his powers reached another level, the eyes on the other side of the veil simply couldn't hold back any longer, deciding that devouring Draconion's soul was too good of an opportunity to pass.

First, the horde of Screamers surrounded him and attacked him like little piranhas, taking bites at his flesh. He slashed with his swords but there were simply too many of them and they took advantage of his damaged armor, eating away layers of ceramite until they could feast on the soft tissue beneath. In all that commotion he was tossed back on the ground, his arm carrying Purgatory lost as Screamers didn't mind it being a bionic while parts of his torso and legs disappeared as well, eaten away by daemonic gribblies. His little familiar drake also roared in pain as he wasn't left untouched - Screamers eating away the scales across his entire form, sucking on the blood beneath.

Secondly, from another nearby portal came a howl and Screamer reinforcement was suddenly cut short as the creature on the other side made its way into reality. First, a cruel avian head appeared resting on a long crooked neck. Then, the crunched shoulders of the giant monster manifested, them covered in some kind of priestly robes behind which a pair of great feathered wings stretched and engulfed half of the chamber. Its body's enormous size was complemented by long arms that ended up in claws which held a mighty ceremonial staff made of souls of enslaved mortals. With a roar, the most powerful servant of Tzeentch, a Lord of Change, appeared on the battlefield and turned its ugly head on the trio of Salamanders. Moments later, bolts made of raw chaos were launched from its staff, ending up in the middle of Salamanders and tossing them all around.

On the other side, Tempestus managed to push more of the lesser daemons back and protect the remaining warriors with his spell, the Herald getting drawn by this but its magic failed to penetrate the barrier while incoming Horrors were cut to little pieces. Fenix, listening to Vulpin's advice used her special grenade and threw it at the swarm protecting the staircase, killing all of them and opening the way alongside Edd, Satoshi and Gaius who dealt with the stragglers. However as the Greater Daemon manifested behind them, they were given the hard choice - either go forward on the next level and complete the mission or remain here and fight the tide of daemons until one of the opposing sides loses.

    <Feron>
With another momentous rush of armored shoulder Feron tipped over dieing spawn, watching it slam back a top several more of its lesser kin before vanishing into a patch of flooring that wasn't cleared for even a full second. Skull-Splitter met those that filled in the gap yet soon enough a shift in the air, the tinge of ozone and burnt warp stuff indicated Draconion was done. While a sudden light show erupting in his peripheral vision heralded what must of been his hundredth flight in the company of Team Angelfall. Getting a look at the situation through others own pict read outs his voice is running itself hoarse before he has even properly pushed himself back up, golden hammer anchoring his right side while combat blade flashes out to gut a Horror thinking it'll get the drop on him.

"MOVE MOVE MOVE! Anyone here wants to play hero then they can die alone, we've a far grander target beyond that final set of stairs. We'll have a far easier time dealing with the swarm at a choke point, do not stop, do not turn around, keep going and never look back, every single loyal warrior on this station, millions more beyond and countless of our innocent charges in the wider Imperium depend upon our actions!" Punctuating it with another sweep of Skull-Splitter he was back on the move, closing in on Temvero's position if his fellow Salamander wasn't up already the terminator would reach down to drag him up, otherwise it would be a short fly-by to help clear out some space before moving to reinforce Draconion in the same fashion, helping the tipped cataphractii if needs be then starting to clear a path for themselves across the room, a single krak grenade sent streaking discreetly over the heads of their daemonic hosts toward the greater fiend's legs.

"Hey, I know you guys can hear me. Get over here! We've got another freakin' level to be playing around on this one!" Satoshi voxed the three salamanders that were away from the rest of the group, as he shot several daemons in an attempt to give them cover as they make their way to the final staircase and up to the final level.

Temvero landed with a grunt, stowing his pistol in flight. Quickly he leapt to his feet, cutting a swath through the daemons, running towards Draconion with Feron. He was ready to fight with his brothers, and help them through to victory.

Throwing back his head, Draconion gives voice to a soul-shattering roar, imbuing it with both telekinetic and warp-disruptive force to fling the daemons off him and Ancalagon and clear them all some space. Reaching out with telekinesis, he aims to reclaim his stolen arm along with Purgatory from the grasp of thieving daemons, twisting the metal back in place by main force and reanimating it with the sheer force of his burning spirit.

"On your three o'clock, Commander," he gasps, fighting his way to his feet with a telekinetic push and back into formation as he aids in pushing the advance toeards their goal.

The daemons screamed and roared at the same time, as the Team pushed through them towards Tempestus' anti-magic field. Lord of Change didn't even notice bullet wounds across his form, but the krak grenade made it take a step back, giving Salamanders enough time to move. Draconion managed to find his missing limb and "attach" it to his body with the usage of his powers, but now it was clear even to him that it was only a matter of time before his powers fail him and he runs out of juice. Temvero was there as well, apparently ignoring most wounds and supporting the Librarian while Feron, grizzled veteran like he was kept on pushing forward.

Of course, they wouldn't really manage all of this if not for a sudden arrival of the force from the lower floor in form of surviving Death Company Marines led by Marmaroth himself, all of them covered in blood and gore. Chaplain saw his brothers and gave them a simple nod before activating his jump pack and launching himself straight at the biggest cluster of daemons, rest of the Flesh Tearers following closely behind. He and his kinsmen would provide them with the distraction they sorely needed and thus allowing them to reach the next and final level...

<Main Level aka shit finally going down>

As the Team and all of its ragged members went up the stairs and through a wide bulkhead, they found themselves in quite a different place. They were on a narrow path made of polished marble, looking towards a large Ziggurat that was located in the middle of the realm, both the building and the path they were on surrounded with a sea of flesh. Million of bodies were the "water" that made this sea, their flesh intertwined in most maddening ways possible to comprehend while their souls screamed in agony to be released, but it was obvious that it won't be happening.

On the lowest level of the Ziggurat which was made of some dark stone, the vile energies swirling around it, there were two creatures waiting for them. First one was looking as what could closely be described as dog which walked on two legs. Canine face, the mouth drooling with bile which fell on the ground and burned it the moment it came in contact. Armor was sickly green plate, covering most of its bulk, which towered couple of meters above the Space Marines in Terminator armor while for weapons it had a long glaive, similar looking bile dropping from it as well.

The second creature was shorter but looking infinitely more deadlier, its four arms ending in long curved swords while the monster itself was androgynous, the pink flesh that wasn't covered in some leather hide revealing black veins going underneath. It was starkly beautiful and terrible at the same time as it gazed upon them with its eyes made of pure ruby.

Two Daemon Lords, ancient beyond counting, stood in their way to protect the final one, the creature which stood on the highest level of this Ziggurat while a huge portal made of purple Warp energies, much greater than anything they saw down there, pulsed behind it, the colors dancing around in some mad musician's tune.

The moment this creature turned its gaze on them was the moment every single one of them was assaulted with a sense of terrible foreboding as the sheer power of evil which stood in their presence simply overwhelming. Shadows whirled around it, but there was no mistaking its tall and muscled form, horned head and bat-like wings while a giant sword stood safely at its side. Even to them, it was clear that they were in a presence of a Daemon Prince. But only to one of them, the one who was once Umbra, his face was familiar because it told of ancient hatred and impossible power, the slayer of his Chapter and many others besides it could never go away.

His true name was long forgotten, in the forbidden tongue of Daemons he has many names. The First-Damned. The First of his Kind. But in the tongue of men, he has but one name who they speak with both reverence and fear.

    Be'lakor.
