OOC My fav color is red so...who knows? <Sanctuary> "I'm told that sword is made to resemble Sanguinius's own. But other than the masterful craftsmanship and placing some markings on it, there's nothing so special about it. A blunt thing for a straightforward warrior. As for your other question - what do you need me for? I'm hardly the oldest Astartes around here, I heard Feron is couple of hundred years ahead of me," the Chaplain smiled as he completed working on the bolter and went to clean his axe. "Which means I wasn't there when it happened. And if you think I could simply ask him, well then, I'm going to fail you Brother, for if I indeed had an ability to communicate with our Fathers whenever I wanted, I don't think we would be in this situation we are currently in at all."
<Sirius Jules - Sanctuary> "In other words, you are incapable of invoking their spirits." Now the Bionic eye fixated on the Chaplain, staring intensively on. "Not that I expected any less. Though Marmaroth. Tell me. Do you actually do have a plan? I knew I had one when I was forced to cooperate with the Tau, and even if that plan was Krauz' friend and you lot to turn the battle around. I may have not been at Haroldheim II, but I read the reports. And I know that you tend to make things up on the go. And I sincerely wish for the sake of the entire crew and those that follow you, that you actually do have a plan. And if not. Then you should see that you re-structure your little warband here and create a proper command squad and other masters like in a regular chapter. The earlier you invoke a proper command structure, the better. Except...." The man paced now again around the hall, looking at the various pieces of wargear. "You want to further hold absolute control over all and everyone of those that follow you, just like the slayer of your father had absolute control?"
There weren't many wargear items around the chamber at all. In fact, other than the Terminator armor and a giant sword, there was only one other piece of Mark VIII power armor and a plasma pistol in it (as well as that Angelous pattern bolter that was usually mounted on Chaplain's armor which was at the moment located in front of him). Although, there were crates with ammunition as well as couple of spare bolt pistols and chainswords, but overall, it was pretty much "lacking". But what it lacked in gear it made up in trophies - heads of various alien species, both known and unknown were mounted on spikes, racks and shelves. Skulls of huge saurian beasts as well as something that resembled bones of strange Tyranid lifeforms could be seen in the back of the room. There were also few helmets of warriors from various traitor legions present, most noteworthy a beautifully crafted helmet of one particular Thousand Sons Sorcerer. "This is not exact science Sirius, but you already knew that," Marmaroth raised his eye as he listened to Sirius's exposition. "However, you made one cardinal mistake with your approach to this situation. You seek to cure your Father but you forget that it is you who must do that for yourself, since that is yours and only yours Death Oath. Going around it and trying to solve the problem the other way doesn't suit a Son of Guilliman. You and only you will be tested through this trial and your shame will be either cleared or will be left to rot." "As for what I think about it, I think you are looking at the wrong thing. Guilliman will rise, one way or another, and he will be by the Emperor's side in our most dire hour. But will that happen during our lifetime is irrelevant, what you must be ready for is what will happen to you if you fail in your task? Will you be able to recover from it, or will you forever dwell on what else could be done. And I think that is your true trial, Sirius Jules. That is why I knew I won't do any harm by bringing you alongside me. Think about my words Brother." "What will also make you satisfied is that I actually, do have a plan for us. I admit, our options became scarce but our goal remained the same which means, I still plan on eradicating this Serpent's plot. As for absolute control, you are mistaken. I led them only once in battle, the other times I had another reason for letting them do their own thing. It was a trial of sorts because I'm under no impression that I'll be able to keep this up forever. More likely, I'll die somewhere along the way but that is why I had to make sure they were ready and able for trials to come. And now, I do have my thoughts on the matter and you will soon find them out. Now, is there anything else?" OOC in other news, I apologize for not starting the next mission when I said I would, I'm Ortodox and tomorrow is our Easter, so there were some preparations for it etc For talents, I'll ship the identical ones to everyone, picturing the most important thing that happened which is our flight. For gear, there won't be any rewarded for the last mission, however I want you everyone to think about something fancy (which doesn't necessary have to be a piece of equipment) for you to get after mission 5.
@lord_watchmen "Thank you ancient one for telling me this. And if I could go through your bionic eyes memorys it would be helpful." Volorox said bowing to the ancient one. before he left deciding next head to his quarters then review the information on the Bionic eye before heading to possibly Sirus.
<Sirius Jules - Sanctuary> "You hide your incapability behind your fancy words. And even your point about control you are too blind, full of yourself to see the truth. You tell them where to go and what to do, and they complied. You claim to have no control over them, yet you do. Look how you formed them in your hands and words to do exactly as you say. Only one tried to actually defect you once you declared we are going rogue against the Imperium. One little pathetic soul had the guts to stand up against you." The Apothecary approached the man now. "My death oath is to find a solution, the means do not matter. It is foolish to ask for help when you are not yet at your limits. But it is even more stupid to not make full use of your resources. Guilliman was not a brilliant tactician and the Warmaster because he was so great himself. It was because what he made out of the resources around him. A war is not won with good soldiers or with superior technology and weapons." He shook his head. "Krauz at least always had back-up plans and true intentions. But you changed, my friend. You did let the rest of the team know what was going on and what you had in mind. But now? Now you are as mysterious as the true events of the Horus Heresy. Perhaps on all this Crimson Path or whatever you may call this you lost more of yourself than you think. You are said to help us find guidance? How about you think about who you had been? Stevanus was a man who could be trusted with one hundred percent. But Marmaroth is a leader who shrouds himself in seclusion, secrets and darkness. Think of who you had been, are and what you want to be." And with that Sirius marched off, concerned about his friend, but that is all he could do to make him realize that there are different ways to lead than a puppet master behind the scenes.
<Sanctum> Marmaroth simply shrugged and returned to his duties, not really troubled by Sirius's outburst. The Apothecary was one of the best when it came to his duty, but his ways were not looked kindly upon, even by his closest ones. To say that a man lacked in faith was a lie, however there was something fundamentally different with his view on things. A lack in proper insight was the cause of it, but Chaplain never cared much about it because despite everything, he still went back for him all those years ago and he haven't forgot about it. No matter what Sirius thought, people remained the same - the only thing that changed was the gravity of the situation and it was Chaplain's job to protect the rest from it. Not the one they want but the one they need.
OOC: Doesn't get more batman than that. <Sirius Jules> The Apothecary knew that Marmaroth had too much of Dorns stubbornness by now to accept any other way than his own. He owed his life to him, that might be right. But that wouldn't shut up the Apothecary. Without goal, he wandered the ship, walking to clear his mind. But as his dutiful mind was a blessing and a curse, he could not forget about his duty and analyze the case over and over again in his mind...
<Feron> @Colapse Eventually the time came where he and Draconion's combined work was completed, the Salamander setting of to track down their Captain wherever she may be lurking to deliver the gift.
OOC: INTERCEPT! <Sirius Jules - Corridor> On his way away from the Sacntuary it seems fate had it in him as he walked past the Captains quarter, spotting a familiar Space Marine. "You seem lost." He extrapolated from himself to Feron. Sirius' face expressed exhaustion rather obvious, even the Bionic lense seemed to glow weaker than usual.
<Feron> Tipping his head in greeting to the Apothecary. "Not so much lost as I am seeking, any idea where our Captain is lurking right now Brother. " Tucked securely in hand was a simple weapons case, large enough to accommodate a las-gun or bolter if required. "Look a bit short on sleep there Sirius, probably should snag a bit of downtime while you can. "
