Elijah forced a smile on his lips, which was invisible behind the helmet anyway, embracing his younger side before they parted their ways temporarily as they had different orders, at different places. ~~ Courtyard, 7th Squad ~~ @DeranVendar | @Grall_Stonefist "I will focus my fire on the Artillery to the left, with the angle we have on it I may be able to hit the ammo depot and detonate it all. I suggest you attempt to disable their vehicles as they roll out. Unless you got better ideas?" Elijah inquired as he loaded a Krak missile into the tube of his mighty Missile Launcher, being ready for the moment this battle would ensue.
"Let us prep a few surprises for these Orks, I'd rather have some warning or deterrent in place should more infiltrators make a push on our building. " Calling out to Brahga. "You there Primus! Do us a courtesy and order your men to prep the entrances around our chosen perch with some explosives? " An armored finger counted out his own supply of grenades, not as much as he would like but more than enough to work with if things got hairy.
"Okay, if Elijah focused on the left artillery sides, then i will focus on the right ones" Denatus said while slotting a krak missile into his launcher. "Davian if the troopers get the booby-traps set up, i belive you will be more than capable of supressing the orks while me and Elijah blast them to pieces?"
"I believe you to be correct brother Denatus. I'll be sure to round up our enemies stray edges and herd them together for you and Elijah's missiles to rip into should a lack of armored targets become apparent at any point. " Davian bobbed his head in a nod to the other Devastator.
"Are you ready brothers?" Caphen asked smiling under his helmet with a huge air of confidence and narcissism. "These wretches can not stand before the might of the 3rd Legion. Let us teach them the error of their ways." The Chemosian seeked to rile up his comrades during the dreadfully boring rhino transport.
Before Split-up "Oh, brother, you know that the good of the Emperor's Children will always come first to me; I will not fall to pride!", he gloated while hugging his brother. "But you assure me that you do not think too much before pulling the trigger, Elijah." Waiting for the Attack "I was born ready, brother!", Isaiah replied to Caphen, softly caressing his sleeping chainblade with one hand and clenching his other. And ready, he was. Waiting to move, already wound up for battle.
OOC: As I told the Star Wars thread, IRL was a bit rude to me this week, so therefore I wasn't in my best shape to post. I've got a little breather now, though. In the rhino Mikael looked up. The Mourner's wounds had been seen to by the Apothecaries, and he ignored the sting as he simply endured the bumpy rhino ride. He looked up from inspecting his bolter as his squadmates began to talk among themselves. "I, too, am ready," he said in his usual serene monotone. A kind of contented calm seemed to be the closest one got to excitement from him. "I look forwards to avenging our fallen Brothers and completing our missions here."
"I am ready to purge some of these savage Greenskins Brtohers, We will make each one regret existing to fight us." Theo said as he readied his bolter and bolt pistol. "Let us kill one hundred greenskins for everyone of the brothers they took from us." Theo said readied for battle.
Arnock said nothing. He took a knee planting his Chainswords into the ground with his head bowed. Though it could not be heard, he spoke words of prayer to the Emperor and Fulgrim for perfection in the coming assault.
<Attack - Courtyard> @Skarboy @DeranVendar @Uriel1339 @Grall_Stonefist Once everyone took their position and the entrance to Marine-held buildings were booby-trapped, Major Bragha gave the order and the attack was underway. Soldiers of the Solar Auxilia moved with purpose, using two buildings for cover as they advanced on the Ork-held courtyard while 2 Rhinos anchored their attack. But the resistance they met was fierce. The Orks expected an attack this time and the moment the human force was spotted, the entire courtyard opened fire and ten soldiers were killed before they even had a chance to retaliate. Using buildings and broken pieces of concrete, they fired back using a combination of rotor cannons and lasguns, felling a number of Greenskins while Major Bragha also added to the fray, however his shooting wasn't that effective and he only managed to slay one Loota before having to duck back as stray shrapnel hit him in the chest plate, thankfully the armor holding for now. Orks kept on pouring fire and despite the added weight of Rhinos, one of the transports blew up as a rocket hit it dead in center. It was clear that this part of Veletanis cohort would not be able to take the courtyard and survive, but thankfully for them the Emperor's Children joined the battle and the Orks had to finally worry about something. Elijah's missile once again found its mark and the artillery piece on the left of the parking lot blew up, destroying the cannon and killing two dozen of Gretchin laborers. Denatus also proved why he was a Devastator, following his comrade's example and blowing up the second artillery piece on the right, doing similar damage to the enemy force. Davian on the other hand began cutting through the Orks but they saw from where the attack came and managed to evade getting mowed down, the Heavy Bolter Devastator slaying only five Ork Boys before he had to duck in order to evade getting shot. 5th Squad also opened fire from the other building as well as those around the three Devastators and two trukks went up in flames while a number of Orks died beneath the firing. The killing wasn't that glorious but it was concentrated enough to provoke the rest of the Greenskins from barging out from the parking lot (or at least a part of them) in a myriad of various howls and angry grunts. The force that came out wasn't anything special however behind, right through the parking lot's main entrance, came a big vehicle on top of which sat even bigger Ork. It bristled with guns of all kinds, from rocket launchers, heavy machine guns and so on but the main armament was a powerful rotating cannon located right in the middle of the vehicle (OOC somewhat smaller Kill Blasta http://wh40k.lexicanum.com/wiki/Kill_Blasta). "FORWAR BOYZ!" the Ork on top of it cried, it having a pair of oversized googles that made it look like some sort of a pilot from ancient terran legends, "TWENTA-UN DEGREEZ STARBIRD, KEEP MUNCHY STEDY AHOY!" and the tank stopped and began slowly moving on its axis in order to align itself with the building where the 5th squad was currently hunkered in. Enemies in the courtyard: 20 Gretchin running around them (Horde), 2 Ork Trukks, 15 Ork Boys with shootas and choppas, 5 Lootas (Veterans) + 50 Ork Boys, Kill Blasta "Munchy" & Ork Big Mek Stiglitz (Boss). Friendly forces: 15 Marines, 53 Human Soldiers, 1 Rhino. Denatus:13 Elijah:13 Davian:11 Mason Brahga:8 OOC Something came up and I gotta run downstairs to help a friend with some "heavy-lifting" So since I finished this part of the post I decided to drop it now! The second part is coming once I get back!
