Only played a few matches on the improved Blackbolt map but OH MAN it is so much better than it's last iteration!

I was hoping there might be another path for vehicles added but I will take the new elevators as it makes taking point C and D much more possible than before.

Elevators are still incredibly glitchy with forced animations for getting on and off (I really don't understand the design intentions behind this) with the bigger lift being far too slow in my opinion.

All in all I love the new additions! Now I won't slam my head into the wall when this map comes up!

What does everyone else think of it?

It'd be cool if you had to manually activate the elevators by pressing a button. That way you could wait for your buddies and storm a place together in unison. But yeah, the improvements are a step in the right direction. I'd expect a lot better for launch but in the meantime it's great.

yes but at the same time the new vehicles cooldown make assaulting A and B harder for the lack of rhinos.

  4. Yeah the way elevators work is pretty stupid. Then again I'm not happy with the control scheme in general, I hope it gets a lot of honing and reworking
  5. I like the changes and new stairway on main street down near the attackers spawn.

As far as vehicles and the lack of roads and suitable terrain I say either allow vehicles to traverse around the areas outside the entire base or just totally remove the Predator. It's ridiculous in my opinion to have a Main Battle Tank present on a map where only about 1/6 of the total playable area is accessible by vehicle. Just because we can have tanks on every map doesn't mean we need to have tanks on every map. Battlefield games are a perfect example.

Huh I never considered just taking out the tank completely but I don't think I agree. The predator is a good way to clear out the grounds near point A for the attackers. I use it a lot to keep the building sides clear of snipers as well. Defenders need it to help get rid of Rhinos in relative safety especially if the attackers take most of the points.

They do need to open the map up a bit more as you suggested and let them circle around the east or west flanks. Currently tank battles come down to who has the higher ground/more health/more gunners than the opposing side. There is no maneuvering to be had with one tight lane on the map to drive on.

  7. Have you ever played any of the Battlefield games? They're all about vehicles, jets, helicopters. However the vehicle line up changes from map to map, with some maps have no tanks at all, other maps are infantry only. Just because they could cram in tanks, apcs, LAVs, little birds, attack helos, light water craft, heavy gunboats, jet skis, ground attack jets, air to air combat jets into every single map doesn't mean they feel the need to. Players get tired of dealing with vehicles every map and need a break. Add to that not every map has suitable terrain for vehicles(ie Blackbolt comes to mind) and the presence of a heavy tank would totally ruin infantry play for many Battlefield maps.

Yeah I have played Battlefield but Battlefield this game aint!

Or at least that is the plan as of now. Right now we're basically testing combat out for the open world warfare that should come out down the line and vehicles are going to be ever present in that.

So, my concern is in the lack of area to properly test out vehicles on that map (at least in my opinion).

I get what you are saying though and perhaps we can get a map without vehicles to test out pure ground warfare.

  9. Honestly I find the vehicles as more as an annoyance at the moment, but I do enjoy having them around and usable. I don't have utter hatred for them.... yet. That being said, as in most situations. A ground warfare only map would be very enjoyable for many and remove the strength of vehicle support.
