Honestly, I have played Shield Bro a lot, and I have played MoN a lot, and they are very compareable in terms of strength, both are very effective combatants. In fact, I have my most kills ever from playing Shield Bro. I really do not think MoN is OP, I can kill them easily on Shield Bro when using my shield and defensive bash effectively. Edit: Don't mistake this thread for me saying that Sorcerer is OP, I am not by any means saying that. In fact, their healing numbers could probably go up a bit. All I am talking about is method of application. If you have tested both and been involved in battles on both, then feel free to disagree with constructive points. Here is my take on it, the biggest disparity so far from my experience is Apothecary/Sorcerer. I've now tried both extensively and the heals on Chaos are superior in terms of method of application. The Stream of Corruption is easy to apply on targets at a distance, and is channeled. If you miss your target or they are running around, you can easily relocate them and get your Stream of Corruption going again, and after a few attempts even on a friendly running around like a chicken with his head cut off, you still are able to top up their health. Now let's look at Apothecary, you literally have to be standing directly beside your team mate, and they can not be moving AT ALL, not only that, but it takes about 3 seconds channel time for it to go off, and if they move even slightly, it resets the timer and does not get applied whatsoever. You can not trigger it from range, and unless your team mates completely hold position, it is extremely difficult to get off a heal. Yes, the HoT is very nice, and only has to be applied once, but in the thick of the battle, more often than not nobody gets a heal. Lastly, the DoT poison on the Nartheticum is not really valid right now because TTK is so short anyway, if you aren't using your Chainsword, chances are they will survive your DoT and decimate you to shreds before you can blink. Even as a Chaos player, I have a few solutions to bring things up to par. I really feel these will help the battlefield be far more equivalent: 1/ Nartheticum cast time is cut in half. 2/ Nartheticum can be cast from a short range. I think these two changes would even up the battlefield to a substantial degree. Far more than nerfing MoN would. As I said, I have played both MoN and Shield Bro extensively, and they are completely on par at this stage when played effectively.
Man, shielbro cant capture points. Dont even compare the amount of contribution to victory. Give shieldbro ability to capture and you can have your MoNs with 230 health.
"Sorc heal is superior..." "Superior...." Man, this is the worst mistake, but qite common, unfortunately. Sorc heal is absolutely inferior to that of the apothecary. In terms of HPS and the fact that afterwards DoT is more strong that sorcs channeling. Apo can heal multiple friendlies at the same time thanks to it. What he cant do is stay far from them and channel heal in long duels. But both are compensated with skill.
I wouldn't be opposed to that if second class on Chaos was able to capture points as well, not just the Traitor. I disagree. I have played both and although the HoT is very nice, it just isn't as effective in the midst of combat. I find that during battle while playing on both healers, I am able to do far more healing on sorcerer. I really think this could be easily fixed by making the Apothecary heal either instant or half the time it is now, and give it a short range, even if 5-8 ft.
Lol you are crazy. Sorc heals are weak. Not only that if they channel a heal they cannot fight. So if it takes a full 30 seconds to heal a player that one guy on chaos side out of the fight for that time. Apoc can cast 1.5 seconds and full heal and revive, that is 1.5 second and your fighting again. And it is 1.5 seconds to FULL HEALTH. if anything Sorc need to get buffed. Lastly the Sorc heal takes up their ranged weapon slot while apoc heal doesn't. so an apoc can still shoot and heal at the same time. The sorc cant attack in ranged if they have heals equip.
I thought it was a satire when I read your suggestions, but I guess you're serious. In any case, Apothecary is a lot stronger than Sorcerer. Bolter is a much more reliable ranged combat option than Stream of Corruption(considering how the latter is bugged). Apothecary can also heal for entire HP and apply HoT a lot faster than Sorcerer. And, most importantly, Apothecary can revive his teammates faster than normal while also fully healing them(which is actually broken if Apothecary knows what he's doing). The only thing that Sorcerer has is the fact that he can heal on range, but with how slow his heal is, it barely matters.
I am not saying that Apothecary heals are low, they are very strong. Just the method to apply is often really challenging to even get off, and therefore a lot of times you run around just trying to get somebody to sit still long enough to even get a HoT on them. I find the cast slightly too long, it wouldn't hurt to make it half the time, and I do think a short range would go a long way in making this better. On the flip side, perhaps Sorcerer healing is weak, but the range makes it constant and makes topping up friendlies a lot less stressful/consistent. It would probably be smart to make the Stream of Corruption heal more over time than it currently does. Just my two cents after testing them both out the past few days, but you guys do have good points about where the Apothecary shines, but unfortunately in the middle of a heated battle, I just find it very annoying trying to get off a heal being that it takes time and you need to basically insert the needle directly into their arse.
I never said AS was OP, not once, and certainly do not feel that way. All I said was their method of healing is more effective during the heat of battle. Apothecary heals are superior in terms of numbers, but the method of applying them needs work, because often you can't even get a heal off as everyone runs around like maniacs trying to avoid gunfire/grenades. Once you apply the heal, yes, it is bad ass. I am being constructive, and if you disagree, put intelligent points like those above. I am speaking on my opinion after playing both Apothecary and Sorcerer. Feel free to disagree, but don't put words in my mouth.
