The boy moved a little closer to Serpent when the armored man appeared from the shadows. "Yeah my folks always said I should try out for football....." He laughed nervously as he took his cane back and quickly began using it appropriately seemingly supporting his right leg. His expression turned from nervous to slightly embarrassed at the rest of the Warden's words. "It's not like that..... She didn't come home last night and her folks are worried sick. Cops wouldn't do anything with all the other stuff happening so I figured I should look for her myself...." He said seemingly cursing himself for saying that much as he tilted his head a little downward to hide his face with the hood more effectively.
"Another disappearance?" Argos asks. The crowd seems having calmed down, or at least confused enough to forget their lynching mentality for moment. Subduing them never was a problem, the possible uproar doing so was, especially with the recently increased number of metahuman criminal activity. Should media start to bash metahumans openly they would be in for big troubles, secretion and apartheid easily imagined result. "We are currently looking into them, so you should tell us more about it." There is something off about the kid. First of all even he can't knock Serpent down that easily. Why would he come to the sewers looking for her? And why the cane? With the way he ran, he shouldn't need that for supporting his weight. Argos tries to read the kid, who goes silent and stares at his feet. He is hiding something and that sparks the polices intuition. "And you, I would like you to answer few questions about the incident. I have two witnesses fled the scene already, so I'm bit determined to keep this one." Argos says to Warden, lightly tapping the cuffs on his belt.
"Finally a way out of this place" Lazarus said as he began up the laddwer to topside. "Gonna need a bath and bleaching then to change out into something else." Lazarus said as he attempted to to push up the man holre and look out before heading up and back to his hideaway
"Alexis, hm, what a nice name. Well let's get going, we long walk a head of us. And I got ten people I need to take care of..." Nightmare said as he started walking down the tunnels he took to get here, a ting of anger at mentioning his people that up and left him. Cane in hand and revolver holstered as they walked, he couldn't help notice just how antsy Alexis was being. Which seemed odd for something of her size and probable power. "Is there something troubling you? You seem as nervous as a kid doing his first shoplift." He noted, having experience in getting street urchins down that path.
Seeing Serpent knocked down by sudden arrival of an otherwise normal looking boy who was surely someone with powers, given that he had managed to knock over Serpent. Still, at least she didn't need to act as the boy had helped up Serpent and apologised for it and even gave his name and why he was down here, and there was the arrival of an armoured figure who complemented the kid on knocking down one of her partners (in the cop sense, not the romantic sense.... But then again, she was with two guys that do look good in their own ways. Perhaps that side of life might be looking up now). However, when Ellyina focused upon the boy, he seemed stranger that he first appeared which was disconcerting for her, even if Argos seemed intent on nailing a witness after two of them did a runner. So she came into the foreground of this little moment after taking off her helmet and said to Argos (@GoreWrencha ) "Somehow, I don't think making Rico wait to find out just what happened to who he's looking for is going to help him be a cooperative person to the investigation, especially since there's more to him than what meets the eye." Concluding her bit, the Hell Knight said "And if you're going to go on about letting someone contaminate evidence by letting them into a scene, I'd be happy to accompany him into the scene to make sure he doesn't accidentally ruin any evidence while he looks for whoever he wants to see." Needless to say, she hoped that would be acceptable as a compromise for letting everyone get what they wanted.
@Maleth @Wata @GoreWrencha @Keidivh @TechCaptain "I'd rather just do it myself." The boy said not looking up from the ground. He wasn't going to bolt but he clearly wanted to get moving again preferably without the WBSA. When it seemed things might get violent he began backing up again away from the two armored men. He then noticed the woman and jumped a little at her (to him at least) sudden appearance. She would sense something strange with him, in his soul or more accurately a complete lack of one. Instead of the usual spark of life was a dark void, a sudden chill came upon the woman, the void was so cold, colder than anything she could have ever felt. Stranger still she could feel it looking back at her, there was nothing but darkness within the boy and yet something still stared back. Rico of course didn't change in behavior and listened to her. "I.... I still want to just go on my own... But I guess if that's what it takes for you to let me through I wouldn't mind..." He kept his stare to the ground as those around him continued to talk. @BuriasDempsey The Alexis laughed. "No no just want to get out of here before someone crashes the party. They've probably been looking for me since sunrise and they won't be very happy." She said flicking her tail at the thoughts of someone. She seemed a bit conflicted about something, perhaps thinking about staying in the tunnels instead of following Nightmare? Who knows really her face didn't leave much room for expression other than strangely wide smiles and animalistic hisses and growling.
"Hm, trouble in paradise perhaps?" Nightmare asked her playfully without breaking stride, becoming all the more interested now. Whoever it was must be of interest to her to have her act like this. Now, to find out if this was a good or bad thing is another issue all by itself. "If this person has been looking for you all day now, is it a game for you to hide between the two of you? Or is there a more.....serious reason to it? You can tell me, I'm a man that knows when to keep a secret." He asked as well, showing a friendly and helpful face and tone despite his current appearance, knowing an appeal of being a friend gets people to open up more than brute forcing it. This was turning out quiet the day which started off with the idea he would have to go down into the sewer of all things.
@TuskatheDaemonKilla A small frown tugged at the Warden's face upon hearing of another missing person. It was difficult enough investigating gruesome scenes such as this, but speaking with people directly affected by it always hit closer to home. "I'm sorry kid. Just know I'm doing everything I can to get to the bottom of these disappearances, as are these fine officers. If you want my help it's yours, but I won't force it on you." He said, casting a meaningful glance towards the commander of the WBSA. @GoreWrencha "And I think I made this clear to your friend mate, I'm not under your jurisdiction. Stay on my good side and I might just share some useful information. Piss me off and well." He reached down and pulled out another grenade. "I go bye-bye. The WBSA has enough enemies friend, don't make me one of them." The Warden watched for the reactions of the agents carefully, ready to disappear in a moments notice if need be, but he hoped that for once they used some common sense and not make enemies at every opportunity.
The Crimson monstrosity checked it's surroundings before leaving the hovel. Keeping to the shadows and hard to see places, the red beast headed toward the direction of the forest. For it to lower itself to the actions more suiting of prey, it wounded the beast's sense of pride. The reckoning it would bring upon those that crossed it-those that forced it to take precautions-would be swift and terrible if it had any say in the matter. "Time to...set things...motion..." it muttered to itself as it continued to briskly move out the outskirts of the city, and toward a more potentially subtle hunting grounds for it.
@Maleth @TuskatheDaemonKilla "Just keep calm, Rico. People are enough on edge as it is and we can't help if you don't tell us everything." Serpent said arms crossed. He was still suspicious of Rico how he managed to knock him down. He took eye contact with Phoenix and gave her an assuring nod that she had backup close just in case, if she really decided to go with the boy into the crime scenes. @Keidivh @GoreWrencha Then Warden spoke. Serpent scoffed silently but decided to let Argos handle it. Instead he addressed the homeless who seemed still agitated a little. "Listen. Nobody wants more violence here. Sorry about all that earlier. If you could help in this investigation in any way it'd help other innocent people. I could even help you out down here with provisions if all of you behave. So, exactly how did all of this start? From the very beginning starting from the first disappearance."
