The band of Exiles - In Tenebris Urbem (RP thread)

  1. Malrak sat in his same postion using both his weight and his claw which was clinging onto the bar in the middle of the transport to remain in one place on the raider as it turned and generally moved erratically. The chase from the hydra barely fazed him as he continued to ponder on his own mutations wondering how he could try to change his form. When the Electropriest pleaded to let two refugees onboard the mouth on his arm chucked. "Yes let the child and her mother on the transport full of maniacs. What do you think their reaction to me will be?" Though his cloak covered most of his grotesque form he doubted the refugees would like the idea of even seeing him let alone siting on the same transport as him. "I also wonder how those three Frank tied up are doing down in the cargo hold?"

Kyrana paused for but a fraction of a second. She knew this one! This was in the chapter marked: MORALE in the Big Boys' Book of How to Space Marine. "Squad morale is essential and should be attended to immediately levels drop below acceptable parameters." Of course, it didn't (she thought) say anything about how to achieve this, and it certainly didn't say anything about unarmed civilians*, but the Wych fancied that she knew all about how to manage a squad of Humans and - well, mostly Humans. Could do with a bit of xenos presence to balance things out.

In a heartbeat she slewed the Raider around in a tight arc, turning it like a jetbike on a credit-chip and had it stop beside the two ragged female survivors.

"Come with me if you want to live!" she barked, gesturing to Zeth to haul them in if necessary. As soon as this was done, she jetted off again, as fast as the Raider - well nearly as fast as the Raider would go, she had to think about the fragile senses of Human balance and stability after all. That Hydra? Cute of the thing to be so persistent, it almost reminded her of some of her Humans, following along like that through thick and thin, but if it came too close it was going to eat disintegrator cannon.

Kyrana spoke over her shoulder, having the important business of flying them towards the space elevator district to attend to.

"Malrak, keep your coat closed there's a dear."

"Zeth, you take responsibility for these two since you wanted to pick them up." She did pause and give him a small smile of encouragement. "See that they behave themselves won't you?"

She had her answer. The electric Human was missing his own kind. He could look after these and cheer himself up! Kyrana beamed. Human females were usually given nurturing roles, so she could probably help to take care of the rest too and maybe encourage them not to grow that dirty hair on their faces. She was a genius.

    Squad morale restored!

*did it you big blue bastards. Noooo, leave that to the Lamenters, see where that gets them, poor sods.

Zeth nodded sadly at Jozai`s words.Frank and Mal had it true also. But so did he!What is one Hydra against their might?
Luckly Kyrana made the call and with a bonewrenching turn of the xeno vehicle she pulled the Dark Eldar vehicle right infront of the two.
"Zeth, you take responsibility for these two since you wanted to pick them up." She did pause and give him a small smile of encouragement. "See that they behave themselves won't you?"

Vitali beamed in,his chest puffing in newfound strength of purpose besides bare survival and zapping things.Clutching one of the spikes that protruded from the hull he came at the edge of the xeno vehicle, yelling from the top of his lungs over the coming sound of battle:

    "Come on!"

As the Raider pulled to a stop,Vitali jumped out into the dust, beackoning them to move onboard.Hopefully seeing enough human faces would trump the xeno vehicle and her...pilot.

August took time to just sit back and relax now that he wasnt sprinting for his life. He took time to observe his new companions, the two human mercenaries were notably silent, while the tech priest, wych, Blood Angel and mutant were quite talkative, seems like they knew each other fairly well.

Content he wasn't going to be eaten or left behind, he slowly nodded off. That was until Kyrana swung the vehicle to a stop, nearly tossing him off. His senses quickly returning, he saw the bloody, frightened women running for their lives.

He quickly jumped off with Zeth, hoping seeing another human would calm them. "With us ladies, we'll keep ya safe!"
  5. Malrak made an exaggerated sigh when the wych said they could bring the two aboard. "This will not end well for them I guarantee it." The mouth on his arm complained as he closed his cloak even more completely hiding his form to look as if he might be an astartes but if they came too close the truth would be revealed quickly. He had no anger towards the two but they would become a burden very quickly if they went into combat. And Malrak didn't like being burdened by a couple of refugees who were in the wrong place at the wrong time. But this wasn't his choice in the matter as the elctropriest and cadian went into help the two on board. Which just made Malrak grumble a bit more as he brought his claw under his cloak and simply sat trying to look like a large abhuman.

"Oh, shush, sweetpea," Kyrana said, reaching over to ruffle Malrak's - hair? did the mutant have hair? possibly feathers? anyway she ruffled it, whatever it was. "I can't have my Humans pining, now can I?" She gave the Human in question an indulgent look - since his back was to her and he couldn't see it - and wondered what Cameron would have done. Probably the same thing. The soppy old bugger.

She missed his cheerful attitude. Being Kyrana, she resolved to feel better by blowing the shit out of the next thing to cross her path.

A pair of Emerald Wyrm Kabalite warriors noticing what the group was doing rushed towards the transport as it picked up the two survivors, unsure of what was going on they did not open fire immediately but it was evident that they would start causing problems as soon as they realized the truth of the group's intentions. They were not about to be robbed of their sport even if it was only two out of countless many more.

Jack previously quiet up to this point took notice and vaulted over the edge of the raider transport, keeping a grasp on the skimmer with one hand while holding the hellgun one handed in the other he and his heavy equipment landed on the raider hull with a loud crash. Hanging off the side of the vehicle he lined up his sights on the oncoming Xenos making sure that his aim was as steady as he could make it, after a very brief moment Jack fired a suppressing barrage of hellgun fire at the Kabalites, not caring if he killed them or not Tower's sole concern was only that they stayed away.

The Hydra on the other hand would not be so easily dissuaded from interfering with the bands endeavors, as it drew closer it eventually came into the firing range of the raider, even as it did so it began its assault in earnest regardless of what its intended target was doing. Thankfully the Hydra had pursued at such high speed in order to get within range on time plus it was still just barely within firing distance that its shots were wildly inaccurate, but even so a couple of shots still impacted the raider transport and worryingly perforated the hull with frightening ease.

Frank sighed and quickly moved to the forward mounted disintegrator cannon. " All who is coming aboard, get aboard now. Unless you want a permanent case of the dead." With that he moved the cannon to aim at the far target of the hydra, since Jack was taking care of the Kabal duo. He immediately open fire trying to hit it. He was taking careful measure and well aimed shots at the tank that was pursuing them.

Right on cue Kaela Mensha Khaine provided the cure for her blues in the only way the War God knew. Here came two improvident Kabalites (probably crass Tubeborn out to prove something, the Hekatrix decided) and that persistent tank.

    She tuned to Jozai.

"Fire the Disintegration cannon at the Hydra," she said, "just press the red button, it's not difficult." Even a Wrack could manage the actual firing parts of a Dark Eldar gun, due in large part to their not relying on all sorts of psychic flimflammery like their softy cousins. "Then keep shooting them until there is more of them disintegrated than - integrated." She wanted to pull the trigger herself, but someone had to fly the Raider.

She was about to make good use of those annoying pop-up attacks so much employed by her kin.

[Kyrana to drive and keep jinking and using the terrain in the immediate area, but staying roughly in place so that the Humans can get back / in to the Raider on an opportunity. First priority: Blow up tank. FOR KHAINE! FOR THE DARK CITY! FOR FUN AND PROFIT!]

EDIT: I left this because Kyrana is fine with whoever firing the cannon, and I also do not want to take over the entire thing so am happy with Frank doing it :)

August gave an annoyed sigh as he watched a Hydra glide over towards them, firing wildly around them. "If this Cabal ever took the time to aim, we might actually be in danger." August laughed at his own comment as he walked over and picked up the young girl hauling her over to the the Raider.

    @High_Adept_Zeth
"Grab the other and let's get the frack outta here mate!" He pointed at the older woman, hoping Zeth wouldn't electrocute her on accident.

"Beg pardon lil missy, just prefer you to be away from the bullets is all." he said casually as he lifted them up onto the transport. He hesitated somewhat in letting go of her. He'd never had the chance to have a family, but holding the frightened child made him wish he was born on an agri world, where he could have raised a family, have a duaghter of his own. Least he had a hellgun.

He pulled himself back up onto the Raider and quickly took aim at the Hydra hoping the combined fire would throw its aim off. In between his volleys, he tossed a krak grenade, hoping his aim was better than before.
