Do you understand how early development is currently? The models showed were very clearly works in progress as was the very bare looking environment which has no lighting. We cannot make assumptions like this based upon the pre-alpha 2 second glimpses we saw.
Yea. I think I'm aware how early it is. I'm just saying you can at least see what direction they are likely going for at this point. It's not looking like stylized WoW cartoons.
Personaly I hope to see more realistic stuff in the game as in my opinion a game called WoW looks so much cartoon like that I don't even want to touch it. No offense to players who like to play the game this is just my personal opinion and because of that I think a more realistic view suits more to Eternal Crusade.
True, though you can't completely rule out stylized models. Gritty realism aka "50 shades of brown" doesn't really fit well. Especially when the universe itself is so utterly grimdark.
I think it should look realistic, because it suit the grim, dark theme of warhammer 40k far better, stylized wouldn't feel "serious" or "grim" enough for the theme.
I wouldn't enjoy playing something with so much saturation and stylized look. I'd much prefer it match the more modern artwork, like my profile pic for example.
I would hope it looks proper and proportional, it really doesn't need to hyper realistic, but I don't want to be playing a kids cartoon.
grimdark realistic all the way. because ... well... dark millenium online *shudders*. i want to play a serious game once again.
It's unfortunate that happened, but at the time Games Workshop gave out the licence to use their IP in video games exclusively. Thing is these days if said developers approached GW with the pitch for that, they would of likely got the licence to produce it. When you just go ahead and use an IP in a licensed product without permission of course you'd get shutdown for copyright violation. Doesn't matter what company owns the IP. Anything which is "official" which doesn't have the parent company of the IP used in an "official capacity" which isn't approved of said company in ownership of said IP results in said IP being misrepresented, so of course GW would get upset over it. Games Workshop cops a lot of dislike over shutting fan projects down compared to other companies, but in truth their doing exactly the same thing other companies would do. They just get abused because a lot of those fans don't understand trademark and copyright laws. With that said, GW doesn't go after mods just like every other company who has had their IP included in mods.
