Striking Scorpion Model - More muscle!

Reviewing the last live stream (#57) and the striking scorpion model shown i was bothered by how slim the model was. Sure tall and pointy eared as supposed, but without a weapon in hand the SS looks almost underfed. As the lore states SS to be stronger than the average eldar some extra muscle on the torso would made them look more melee capable.

Comparing some pictures of the Dire Avenger and the SS, the main differences are highlighted in the picture below.

Dire Avenger (Bottom left) & Striking Scorpion (Bottom middle) from the livestreams #56 and #57 respectively.

    - The shoulders and their armor better fill out the shoulder pads.
    - This SS drawing (top middle) shows more of the SS backpack with wider caps, resembling strong neck muscles.
    - The rib area of the armor is simply bigger. Pecs! The core follows.
    - Slightly larger elbow armor. Pop-eye ~

The bottom right is my edit. More and wider shoulders, perhaps a little bit more bulge to shoulder pads. Wider neck and backpack-caps. Wider torso. A little bit of shade to emphasize abs and pecs. No edit on the legs, as they need to be long and slim to fit the eldar silhouette.

The semi-crouched stance of the SS will hopefully further add to the powerful feel, but when standing upright as shown in the live-stream it looks sort of weak. Striking Scorpion, not Praying Mantis.

Fun fact: The idea that blacksmiths are all big and beafy is actually not necessarily true. Many blacksmiths are lean muscled because the muscles used in blacksmithing are 'lean' or 'long' muscles.

Seems like the upper body could use a tiny bit more beef on the SS. Where is the Soul Stone for the DA ?

Agree, Striking Scorpions are supposed to wear heavy aspect armor, but it really doesn't look like one.

Maybe the armor is just really dense and therefore heavy in the weight aspect :p

Yup, I do agree too, but now again, Eldar armor is supposedly all the best their technology is able to give them, so every armor is logically optimized in order to complete the task the warrior has. Therefore, If some warrior has the particular task to be able to sustain more heavy damage, his/her armor shall be a little tougher in appearance as well. Otherwise, why would you provide lower protection armor with the exact same appearance to other soldiers?

    @Philos
Yes I was wondering too during the stream, but I forgot just after ^^'.
I guess this DA was a work still really in progress when showed and hope they added the Soulstone in the meantime.

Now, I still think The Eldars SHOULD duck a little bit more when running, because their sprinting is ... well, awkward to me. I mean, I do sometimes run just like they do, but that's when I do have time to joke around, not being shot at.

You're confusing thickness with density. Those are two separate measurements. ]

Artificer armor is thickness identical to Mark V. But the materials are better and more densely layered on, giving it better protection.

  10. I agree! Thats what I thought too when I first saw the model. The slender'ness fit for the Dire Avenger, but for a SS he didn't look bulky enough.

I couldn't pinpoint it exactly, but i also saw the unfilled shoulders. But the Neck might be even more important.

Even the Direavenger in the Pic looks pretty well armored and ripped :D

The Striking scorpions seem to be supposed to be the bulkiest of the Aspectwarrior, between their Heavyarmor, and their somewhat crouched sneaking position.

Btw, here are the GW Minis for comparison:
