With the introduction of the new master-crafted RTC Storm Shields I am curious about something. Does everyone think they look good? Personally I find the best looking one to be the Imperial Fists shield. Their metallic steel and vertically oriented symbol makes the shield feel fleshed out and there is less space left on it. The other's however I find issue with. The Blood Angel's shield has a set of wings, very fitting for Blood Angel's, but I find the chalice and whings to be too horizontally large to fit well on the shield. To remedy this I would propose moving the chalice down a bit, making it larger and adding a large teardrop of blood in the space above the chalice itself. The Dark Angels Shield has the same issues I find with the with the Blood Angels shield in that their symbol is very wide but not very tall. As a suggested fix I would remove the current symbol entirely and replace it with the robed swordsman symbol instead. Cast in steel much like one of the shoulder options. The wolves gave me a moment of pause in exactly what a wolf would have on their shield, then the thought came to me. Their symbol is fine, what their shield could use is some of the various runes already available on other wargear. These runes could fill out the empty space and would make the shield feel much more worthy of a Space Wolf. The Ultramarines also leave a lot of empty space, but unlike the other factions their symbol is a lot more round. To that end I would suggest replacing it with the large copper Ultramarine symbol that appears as one of their torso options. Overall I'm glad to see these shields come in, I just believe improvements can be made. Thanks for all the hard work though @NoahWard !

Spoiler They can make an Imperial Snokk Attack Gun, for example. You can fire Ultramarines - sons of Guilliman will surely survive because of their genetic perfection and memories of kelp and ultra-mom.

I am still sitting on a lot of RTC and thought for sure when a new storm shield came out I would be buying it and it would be awesome and great, not bland or boring..
I'm not really amazed by the looks of the Stormshields so far for a few reasons. They could be cool to drop in a lootbox, but right now, thoe ones we got are not worth buying it with an ingame money that can also be real life money. Why ? Well... What is a Warhammer 40k Stormshield ? That is an Imperial fist Stormshield : That is a space wolf using a storm shield : https://s-media-cache-ak0.pinimg.com/originals/a5/ef/b8/a5efb8f5152941b4014f790e37d1f99c.jpg What we actually got are just bolted metal plate, reinforced grossly on the side. Stormshields are supposed to be fucking thick piece of arts with proud and majestic heraldic with a curvous form. Don't get me wrong, I actually love that the devs actually thinked about giving us customised shields, each representing our own faction. But in the end, it's juste the same shield, costing 100 more LP to wear, with no idea if it give us something more to our stats, and having the same insigna as the ones we can have on our armors, with the only exception being the space wolf shield who got a double insigna. I'm sorry team, I'm behind your back with every update, I try to understand your decisions and roll on with the changes, caring about your works and devotion for the game, but even for a small patch, this is clearly not enough for our shields. it would have been more worth to customize them heavily and release them 1-2 months later in a big patch, but not more.
I'd disagree. I use mine mostly to become the biggest target in the room. More hp to a shield helps a bit actually. I still think they could be fancier.
Very true but i rather have a mod which adds that durability for 100lp. Cause i'm struggle to make a half decent build with it due to the LP price, which basically mean i bought this thing for nothing as i can't fit it in a build !! Oh man something which doesn't look like it took 5mins to throw together, i wish they just googled these things sometimes so they had a graphical idea on what to do lol. What chapter do you play as?
