So there has been plenty of talk over the course of the game's life about melta bombs. How they encourage suicidal rushes and how they are a terrible thing that ruins fun. This is not about that. This is about Krakk and Stikky grenades, and how they stand as anti-vehicle grenades. They are flexible enough to work on infantry sometimes, but two Krakk grenades are inferior to a Melta bomb. But I want to know what people think, so there's a poll above.
Well, those grenades are throwable, so they're also good anti-infantry weapons. Two stikky does the same vehicle damage than a melta bomb and only cost 140 LP instead the 200 LP of the melta bomb (their only disadvantage is that they don't harm fortress doors). Basically, orks have a throwable, 60 LP cheaper melta-bomb. But they lack melta weapons, so I think it is quite asymmetricaly balanced. But a buff, just nope for the stikky ones, they are quite strong.
Nope Krak grenades work well in an anti infantry role and work well as enough as AT already, it's what 1200 a greande for 2400 a bundle vs 3000 for a meltabomb? Throwable, less lp, sticks to targets
Are Krak's really that powerfull vs Vehicles? holy molly, i underestimated them all the time it seems
While you would need 2 Melta bombs in the back of a rhino to destroy it, you'd need 5-6 Krak in the same place to blow it up. I believe it's quite in a decent spot right now, doesn't need buff nor nerf.
Imperial Krakk grenades do 1,250 damage to a nid in the garrison. That's 2,500 damage for a pair. The Melta bomb did 4,000. Orks checked. Same numbers.
Nope, meltas are point blank, more expensive and can't be used as AI, Kraks can be applied to moving armor, used as regular nades and are much more risk-free.
Side note: from calculations, a Rhino has about 8000 EHP on rear armour. (2 metla bombs required to kill it) Eldar tanks have 40% lower EHP -> 4800 EHP. > It currently requires 4 Krak grenades to destroy an Eldar vehicle thrown on Rear Armour. > It is just as easy to land a Krak grenade on a moving Wave Serpent than on a moving Rhino. (Granted, it's not the case for melta bombs, but for Krak it is, if you're not stupid.) >> Buffing the Krak grenades would make the Melta bomb definitely redundant against Eldar, because Krak is safer and easier to setup.
I've not tested krak grenades, but I'm 100% sure that 4 stikkys at the back of a rhino destroys it, as both my brother and I usually go patrol with them as AV loadout (and a klaw, just because).
