I'd purchase a hardcopy collectors edition, if it's available, but the developers would be mad not to release this on Steam. I know Steam take their share of the pie for every sale, but with Steam you hit a HUGE online gaming audience which may have otherwise not have been interested in the game. Absolutely release on Steam. +1.
I hope to the DARK GODS and the EMPEROR and GORK AND MORK and for TAU and for the HIVE MIND and all the other gods that this game GOES ON STEAM! May the immaterium be on our side and advert another repeat of Warhammer Online! As great as the game was, it was not targeting the right individuals through the correct means. May it COME TO STEAM by MY BLOODY HAND!
well, since some f2p mmo games are on steam (for example Lord of the Rings Online which I play) this game should go on steam :3
I imagine it would be available for Steam. Though if they release a C.E. I think they may do a physical copy as well. Especially since it's for console games as well as desktop. But really at this stage it's way to early.
I like the idea of pushing the game on Steam after the launch, but I as a European have to stress my disapproval for forced Euro payment, while US & others pay in USD. So nowadays I resort to using Green Man Gaming, which has a USD currency for everyone and then converting my CD-Key to steam. Maybe you guys could check the Green Man Gaming out, and see, if you could come to reasonable terms with them.
My take on it is - I wouldn't mind it being on Steam. The more publicity this game gets the better! ...In saying that I would much prefer to buy it directly here cause more money to the dev's. Plus I like having MMO's as a sort of "Standalone" on my desktop so I don't keep having to have steam open to play. but in saying that, If it was on steam and they offered keys for it on steam if you still brought it directly. I wouldn't be against that...besides I can just "add non-steam game" if I want to use the overlay for any reason
as long as the game has its own launcher, sometimes steam can be a real pain in the backside and I would like to have my own separate launcher for the game so I can put the game on a different hard drive so that it loads/runs smoother and it isn't tied to my steam hard drive.
