"Um, what?" Kyras blinked and looked at Seryu, who didn't seem to know either. He shrugged. This whole mess would be better done whilst awake. He quickly used the SCARAB to to Bannoi that he would check up on the updates in the morning. He was to tired to figure this out. He walked into his room, threw off his clothes and jumped into his PJs. Seryu pixalated for a second and then reappeared in a long nightgown and adrable dog cap. They both said "night to each other and then Seryu parked her SCARAB in the corner and initiated sleep protocols and Kyras jumped in his bed, and was gone. The SCARAB blinked, setting its loudest alarm for messages, specifically those from Bannoi, and powered down. It knew without something like that, there was no way these idiots would wake up before 3. Once more the SCARAB lamented its lot in life, in long suffering and angst filled speech. It was truly a shame that it lacked the capabilities to actually say things.

Veronica sniffled, then appeared on Kelley's shoulder, and being the only light source in the room, was quite the eye catcher indeed. She hopped of his shoulder, the landed on Morain's legs. With a little voice still she spoke directly to Morain.

[It's ok, I understand. Shall we start over then? Hello, I'm Veronica.]

Kelley seeing this, decided to remain still and silent for whatever was obviously being exchanged between the two girls. He would respectfully give them their privacy, though he stayed relatively close to Morain, he still wasn't physically in contact with her.

Bishop decided to return to his room for a moment. "You're being followed." Auriel whispered.

"I'm aware." He stated as he glanced back and then stopped, might as well see who it was.

As Bishop turned, he saw Kylei again, who 'eep'ed, blushed, and walked forward to Bishop

"H-Hi... I j-just wanted to say th-that I thought y-you did amazing in there..." She stammered out in a small voice. "W-would you like some food?"

"It was nothing really." Bishop replied with a shrug before answering the question. "Food sounds good to me." Auriel paid the woman no mind but her presence didn't seem to bother her.

"T-then could you follow me?" Asked Kylei happily as her eyes glittered, skipping of in a direction that did not seem to lead towards the mess.

If he listened carefully, Bishop might hear: "Hmm, Hm Hmm, Hmmm~ I wonder what he'd like? Grilled salmon? No, he seems more like a steak man to me. Well then, how about..."

EPISODE IV: THE RUNNER MEETS THE DARKNESS

< MISSION I BRIEFING >

At 0900 hours Terran time, the riders were all awoken and ushered into the holographic briefing room. A man with coal-black hair and Deep green eyes stood in the center, and there were already a few others in the room.

"Welcome. I am Captain Tiber Onyx. I trust you've all settled in? Good. Oracle? Take us out." A beutiful woman with golden eyes, silver hair in a gorgeous robe appeared. "At once, Captain Onyx" The StarRunner jolted as it began its movement out of the gravity well of Bastion. "T-minus five minutes until Star-Jump, captain"

"Good. I would, at this juncture, introduce my Command team." He gestured to The man who had greeted them "Bill Moren, Logistics officer." The wolf Anthromorph that had spoken to Freya was next. "Koloi Huri, Commander of the armed forces." After that was the young man who had accompanied Freya in the Med-Bay "Killian Fero, Helmsman." A smaller woman with blonde hair and blue eyes was next "Mirian Giruan, Medical Officer"

Morain Dereso was next introduced as the weapons officer. If she had any recollection of the morning's events, she did not show it. Finally, a woman with a close buzz-cut and brown eyes was introduced. "And Commander Calban Yilli, My XO."

"Now with that, our first mission is to lend assistance to one of our colonies near the Splinter Border: Y'Coren. Evidently, Splinter scouts have been spotted near the edge of their sensor range." Seeing a few disappointed faces, Onyx smiled "I realize plenty of you wanted a more exciting maiden voyage, but command did not want us to overextend."

There was a strong jump as the Carrier slipped into star-space. "Ten minutes Until Arrival, Captain... wait... incoming transmission from Y'Coren... They're under attack! Patching it through!" Oracle cried out.

*StarRunner, we have splinter FRAMEs in our capital! A small fleet has appeared as well! Request immediate-* The transmission cut out. "DAMN!" Roared Onyx. "How the hell did they get there so quickly?" He turned to Sergeant Gorgon.

"Sergeant, I need Kelley, Tyran and Miribo and Hushion down on the planet. The rest of your team I need here on defense." Keith nodded and turned to his team "You heard the captain! Kelley, you're in charge, get moving!"

"Five minutes, captain!" This time Onyx talked to his command squad. "I need you all at your stations! Desero, give the planet team covering fire until they breach atmosphere!"

Kelley saluted, and replied "Aye Sergeant. May I ask what the planet team's immediate objective will be once we are planet side?"

Veronica on his shoulder also stood at attention and saluted, but with a bright smile on her face. His eyes connected with Morain's for a second, and the weapons officer quickly looked away, a tinged of red on her face. When she looked up again, Veronica's eyes caught hers and winked with her smile.

"Secure the capital. Destroy or Drive off the enemy. See if you can't disable one for questioning, while you're at it." The sergeant replied.

Morain caught Veronica's smile, and she returned it. {Good luck, Veronica. Tell Loran I wish him luck, as well.}

Kyras hummed. "Ok, two qustions. One, didya get to what I asked you to install last night. Two, whats the situation of the capital? Are we fighting in a city or in rubble?"
