"Bishop, ally Freya's frame has powered down. Seems she overextended." Auriel stated. "No allies within range to assist. We're on our own." "Not a problem." Bishop replied before position Archangel between Lævateinn and the incoming frames. Shot after shot impacted against Archangel's shield but it could handle far worse than this. Though it seemed the enemy was closing in, likely in an attempt to surround Archangel. "Bishop?" "Keep an eye on things Auriel." With that he grinned and charged forward, sidearm aiming out from behind the shield. The weapon discharged several times, impacting the leg of the nearest bladesman, rendering it effectively useless until bishop closed in and the shield was used to sweep the frame off the ground and then slam it back down. As quick as the shield went down it was brought up again, and then once again brought down against the neck of the bladesman. "Hostiles to the right." Before he could react a round came flying through, scraping against Archangel's armor. "Barely even scratched the paint." The sidearm was raised and fired in quick succession, ending the rifleman with a few well placed shots. "Missile barrage impacting in three seconds." Auriel warned. Archangel ducked down, shield raised high as the missiles impacted, doing little damage. "Hostiles approaching Freya. Two frames armed with blades." Missiles were then fired off of Archangel, targeting a missile frame afar off. They would impact a few moments later. Archangel turned to face Freya. Seemed the two hostiles were closing in on Freya. Bishop reacted at the last second, firing the wire from his left hand which coiled around the sword arm of one of the frames. A quick jerk sent the sword in the opposite direction, decapitating its ally. The bladesman turned to face Archangel who released the wire and sent several shots into the bladesman. It fell. 1 Rifleman, 3 Bladesmen, 1 Missile frame.
If this was an actual battle, the enemy FRAME riders would be retreating by now, screaming on the top of their lungs into their comms. And yet the results would have been exactly the same. One of the bladesmen group suddenly felt itself dragged down to the asteroid from its position in space, only to have both its arms cut off by Void Riptide before exploding. The other members of its unit turned around, only to all be bisected by a spinning cut from Kelley's FRAME's two swords. A group of riflemen saw the ensuing battle, and all raised their rifles and fired bursts into the midst of dismembered bladesmen parts and Void Riptide. Dodging the shots Kelley flew straight at them, seeing out of the corner of his eyes a screen indicating that a missile FRAME had locked on to the Riptide. He sped straight at the riflemen, just as the missile FRAME fired it's first volley at his FRAME. "Check" Void Riptide stabbed straight into the middle Riflemen's head with his right sword, just as the missile barrage hit the riflemen around him, causing the area to bath in explosions that ripped apart the rest of the unit. The missile FRAME waited before launching another barrage, scanning for the remains of Void Riptide amidst the dead riflemen FRAMEs. Suddenly a laser sword erupted from its chest, and the black and red lit FRAME appeared behind it. "Mate." As the missile FRAME fell to the side, destroyed, Veronica's voice popped up in Kelley's ears. "Excellent work as ever sir. You made it look effortless." Her voice was tinged with admiration, and though Kelley wasn't staring at her image on one of the side screens, her face was a lighter shade of pink from a blush. Kelley only gave a half shrug. "It might as well have been." RESULTS: 5 bladesmen, 4 Riflemen, 1 Missile FRAME destroyed.
It seemed, mused Kyras, that his new friends had mopped up most of the remaining enemies. He sighed at this, as he was just starting to enjoy himself for the first time since....then. Anyways, the only threats left were a pair of baldesmen, the rest were heavily out dakkad. The bladesmen didn't even have time to react before they were torn in two by the canons mounted upon the now bored anthro's shoulders, a couple of carefully aimed blasts tearing them apart with almost contemptuous ease. The rest were now without melee support, sort of like if one side had lost its sword guys leaving only bows and slings, and the other had a APC with lasers and missiles. The first to go were the missile FRAMEs. Two suffered the same fate as one of their earlier comrades had, being destroyed by the detonations of their own missiles. These were not easy shots, but without the blade wielders to threaten him Kyras could take his time. The last one vaporized to a single RoTC blast, being there one moment and gone the next in an emerald flash, as if it had never truly existed. The riflemen tried to fight back, they truly did. But this was like a man with a pistol going up against a man with a gauss flayer. They were simply to far outgunned. One by one the canons of the PRAETORIAN sought them out and erased them from the battlefield. As the canons roared again and again, Kyras advanced through the desperate counterfire, uncaring as a few stray shots managed to ping off his armor. At last, he reached the final surviving enemy unit, and stared down at its limbless torso laying helplessly on its back, as if deep in contemplation. "I wonder" he asked "If you are truly and enemy or just merely part of this simulation. Would you have acted this way upon the battlefield? Would you have fought to the end, or begged for your life like the coward so many of your kind are. In the end though, this simply proves what I thought from the beginning" at this his omnipresent smile turned much darker and he raised his foot high above his head "there are none amng you worthy of my skills" the foot came down "Another successful mission sir!" Seryu cheered. "Justice has prevailed once more!" Kyras was glad he had her. She always knew just how to restore his mood. "It seems our comrades have finished their duties as well. When we get back, the foods on me" As Seryu cheered at the thought of cyber cookies, Kyras wondered what was ahead for him and his new crewmates. One thing was certain though. They were all going to be his friends. They just didn't know it yet. He started humming a cheery tune under his breath. He oh so loved befriending people. "Friends friends friends friends frieeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeends~" [2 Blade FRAMEs, 3 Rifle FRAMES, and 3 Missile FRAMEs. That's all of them I think]
EPISODE III: THE NIGHT OF SPARKS < @Xanxas @WanderingJester @Shadhunter @Andraina > Once the final Simulated trooper was destroyed, the simulation faded to black, and the Riders stepped out of their pods to a roar of applause and cheering. It seems that the battle had been seen by a good amount of the Crew. Yalei and Dunni held great smiles upon their faces, but Sergeant Keith Gorgon, a large, muscular man with a brown buzzcut, was frowning. "Good job, team." He said shortly before striding out. "Well, see ya guys later!" Called Dunni as he too walked out. < @Xanxas > "Heyyy~ Kyras!" Yalei was speaking in a sing-song voice. "That was amazing!" She said, booping him on the nose "And I'm Hungry... Wanna go get some chow?" < @WanderingJester > As Kelley stood, he would probably ignore a large amount of eyes focused on him, particularly from the young woman. One gaze might catch his eye, that of a brunette with green eyes, She stood tall with determination in those eyes. < @Shadhunter > Nate Bishop also had adoring eyes on him. One girl, however, was looking away and down, blushing furiously. < @Andraina > The medical team was waiting outside of Freya's pod to whisk her away to medical. Agalia would notice a young man with black hair and hazel eyes following the team down to medical. [Ok guys, we now have some downtime. Feel free to do what you want, I will be here to narrate.]
"As expected of an allies of justice, you both did great!" Seryu chimed in, now appearing as a hologram above the nearby Fredrick the scarab. "Now then, it is in fact time for all the celebrations. ALL OF THEM!" Kyras laughed heartily and gestured to the exit. "I are has the monies, so lets go. My treat. HEY, WE BE GRABBIN TEH GRUB! ANYONE WHO WANTS A VICTORY PARTY COME NOW OR FOREVER BE UNSWAG!" he yelled the last part, seeking any who would join in their revelry. "On that note my fair lady, as you actually know where things are, lead the way"
The brunette did catch one of the occupants of Void Riptide's eyes, but it wasn't Loren Kelley's. Veronica appeared sitting again on the Raven haired young man's shoulder, with her usual friendly smile replaced by a frown that was a mix between disapproval and a pouty face. She had always disliked the female attention that her rider attracts where ever he went, but due to his aloof nature never really had to worry that someone might make an advance on him. But this brunette girl with green eyes was different, Veronica could feel it in her processors. So she shot the girl a brief "back off" glare, before looking away as if ignoring something particularly vile. She needn't worry at the moment though, Kelley's eyes didn't even seem to register the other riders, leaving Sergeant Gorgon the moment he stopped talking. They were currently running over the specs of a particular part from the Dusont Manufacturing Corporation from Mars on his digi-pad, and comparing them with the current schematics of Void Riptide. Tapping the screen a few times, Kelley seemed satisfied and looked up, scanning the room until he found Bannoi Hushion among the audience. Heading directly over to the Chief Mechanic and ignoring quite a few batting eyelashes as well as Kyras's bantering, Kelley held out his hand. "Chief Hushion? I believe we've met earlier over comms. Loren Kelley. Listen can you get your hands on one of these for me?" Kelley held out his digi-pad for the Chief Mechanic to look at, on it was the specs for a DMC Mark 7 Harpoon FRAME attachment.
< @Xanxas > Annoyance briefly flickered in Yalei's eyes, but it was gone quite quickly. She grabbed Kyras by the hand and began leading him down various hallways to the Mess. The mess was as one would expect, a large cafeteria with food synthesizers along the wall. "You know, I'd love a BIG piece of chocolate cake." She said, humming while she walked off to sit a an empty table. Which wasn't hard to find. All the tables were empty. < @WanderingJester > Bannoi looked up at Kelley, then down at the data-slate, then back up. "I could, but are you sure you don't want somthing with more firepower? This has good holding power, sure, but Doesn't really do that much..." Veronica would see the brunette approaching Kelley, ready to try to waylay him before he left. [To make it easy, unless you somehow escape, She will shake Kelley's hand and introduce herself as Morain Dereso.]
Kelley nodded, "you're correct in that it doesn't have that much power in its launching mechanism, but it does have the best pulling power in its class. Yes if you would please acquire this and leave it within Void Riptide's holding bay, that would be most appreciated. No need to inform your mechanics, I'll install it myself. When can you expect to get it by?" As they were talking, Veronica gave another glance at the girl and her eyes popped wide open. Seeing her approach, the SOUL lost her normally calm and professional composure and began waving her arms, trying to get Kelley's attention. "Um, Mr. Kelley? Perhaps we should get you to some food? You're bound to be hungry after that-" Her rapid sentences ended with a gasp, as the brunette had walked up and offered a hand to to Kelley. Veronica's plan had backfired, as Kelley turned to look at what got his SOUL so riled up, he saw the hand offered to him by the girl. The brunette didn't hesitant, "Hello, great job out there. I was watching you. My name's Morain Dereso. What's yours?" She beamed a smile at him, completely ignoring Veronica who was silently going ballistic on Kelley's shoulder at the moment. Kelley looked at her hand, raised an eyebrow, then took it and shook it absentmindedly. "Loren Kelley," he turned back to Chief Bannoi, "Well chief?"
"Noooooooooooooooooooooooooo problem" Kyras sang as he skipped off to the synthesizers. He stared at I for a bit before pressing butons randomly before he got what he wanted. In the meantime, Seryu affixed Yalei with a blank stare whilst munching on a cyber cookie. "So new friend" she said "how do you feel about JUSTICE." Before Yalei could respond, Kyras had tottered back over with a tower of food. It seemed that pressing random buttons until something worked had generated a lot of food. "It is tiem for the om noms" Kyras declared happily. He laid out the feast in front of them, and even pust a couple of drinks in front of Fredrick the SCARAB. Sure Seryu couldn't drink them, but it would be rude not to offer some regardless.
OOC: Woo! 100 posts! < @WanderingJester > "I can get you one of those, sure, but you will need to work with my mechanics on it. Don't worry, they're well trained and will follow your orders." With that, Bannoi walked off, leaving a somewhat miffed-looking Woman taking the spot in front of him. "Well, Loren Kelley, It seems that you have some free time now. You did some amazing work out there today." < @Xanxas > Yalei smiled warmly at the feast before Her eyes turned downwards "Justice is... very important to me." She said shortly before Mark appeared "Master, are you sure...?" He asked hesitantly. She nodded. "He's been so nice to me, I have to tell him. "I never really had a father. Lost him when I was young, a terrorist attack on the UTC. He was an archivist there, no harm to anyone. My mother... she worked hard to support me afterwards, too hard. She died during my first year at Acadamy." Tears were beginning to well in her eyes, and her voice started to crack. "The man responsible for all that, Damien Terantes, was never found. I know he's alive out there, though. And when I find him... I'll kill him. I'll kill him, and get justice for my parents!"
