Cyrus seemed a bit lost in his own little world for much of the time they'd been walking. Nat and his fluffy double had pretty much taken any words he could have said out of his mouth...albeit in sometimes roudabout or slightly offensive ways. Nat, Kai...and probably Nex had more experience dealing with the less legally inclined. He just shrugged, quite sorry to disappoint Nex with his lack of support with regards to the Dug. "Sorry, sounds like an equivalent exchange to me...and if you've never seen any holos of the pod races then I highly recommend 'em. He'd be good in a fight, I'd wager he can and probably has dodged more than a few blaster bolts. Plus...we're a small crew as it is, another set of hands would be welcome." "I think what Nat means is simply that I was the odd one out aside from you. Pretty certain it wasn't meant as a slight."
"Well it sounds like two fought a for and one against. And in all honest if after this is over you don't want me around little one I'll go my separate way. Just need the credits to fix the engine and hyperdrive. I'm sure your group has connections to make that happen. But if you so feel inclined I'll tag along, extra hands and an extra ship can always be useful." He crossed his arms, now slightly relaxing and mostly forgetting about Kradd. If the merc went crawling back to report this to his master he would surely have issues when he did try to leave but he would just deal with that when the time came.
Nexnip Nexnip did a double take between Cyrus and Nat -both of which faces flanked either side of him, forcing him to whip his head around back and forth to do so- with a confused look. Nat has garnered a reputation with picking up or just finding wandering spacers to join the group, but hearing Cyrus second the notion was unexpected to say the least. "Cyrus, it's not blaster bolts I'm worried about here." he said in a hushed tone again to help ensure there wasn't any eavesdropping on the Dug's part, "we're bound to come across more Sith doing what we're doing. That's just the reality of it all. 'Kradd' even mentioned Dramel dealing with them before contacting us. I'm worried the man is getting in way over his head without even knowing what we're dealing with. What are even the risks we take daily. At least Kass had some idea before signing on, this poor guy's clueless. I'm against suckering in whoever we come across to join our cause when he doesn't even know what it is he's walking into." Nex focused his look back at the Dug. "Fair warning, things tend to...explode around us. And no that's not just because we have an explosives expert in our crew. No, things tend to blow up wherever we go...figuratively and literally. We can't guarantee you're safety. Karkin hell we can't even guarantee our own safety. Is this still sounding alright with you? Because I haven't even gotten to the scarier things yet and I want to know if you're still good with it."
"Sounds like a 'blast'! Gotta live life fast and loose, bound to be a few bumps along the way!" Dakar wasn't sure why he was being so cautious about him being here, and honestly he didn't care. It actually made him want to do it more.
Tunnels @GobMaw_HellSmasha & @UnluckyFellow | Na'tala's eyes widened at the thought of causing offense, nodding as Cyrus spoke. "I didn't mean to say that we aren't good people. But we all have different codes by which we live. Some of those codes say that the ends justify the means." Pleased that Nex had seemed to accept her point of view Na'tala glanced at the tunnel walls, trying to think how long they'd been walking. "It's like a maze in here. I trust, Kradd, that you know where we're supposed to be going."
Kirluth shook his head. "Creature, I can care less about worthy. I want out of this place. Give me your test so I can leave." It was partially bravado but mostly truth.
Temple Entrance @TechCaptain "Hahahahaha creature? This is my Temple blind one!" The distinct 'glow' of a force user appears before Kirluth, the distinct imagery of a male Devaronian. Something seems off about him, even being blind it appears that the Devaronian isn't truly there. "Though you are blind, you see the truth about the Light. It isn't what the masses are told. Even as we speak, true seekers of the Light seek to take the thing you seek. You know that the Light holds you back, it does not wish you to be as powerful as you can be!" He shakes his fist in the air, as if the Light could be taunted and intimidated to leave. "You walk the line between Light and Dark, all you must do is cross into the Dark Side! You will have power untold!" "What is your Darkest secret? This will be your first challenge, and your first true step towards the greatest power in the Universe! Embrace the Dark Side, I will show you how to gain the power that the Light has unjustly kept from you!" The glow slowly faded away, replaced by just a voice in the darkness, "Choose.... Remain weak or join your true calling within the darkness."
Kirluth raised an eyebrow at the apparition. " Creature you are. Force Ghost. Yes I know of light and Dark side. I see more than you know. My only secret is I follow my own morals no matter who gives the order. What do you think I seek that is so material that someone could actually take it? I seek only to follow the path in which I find just." His memories flash back to him refusing orders to work on terror weapons. Those had no place in a military in his mind.
Blec Ruc @Avenging-Angel @kanila @UnluckyFellow @Vulpas Blec gave Na'tala a tired, vacant stare. A look that spoke more then any amount of words he wanted to say at the moment. He was clearly displeased with the recent turn of events, but at this point the Rodian didn't look like he even cared anymore. "Yes, yes I know where to go. Had to lead the karkin Miraluka to it afterall. Wasn't my concern if afterwards he went missing. Probably played it smart and got off this rock as fast as he could." He lazily motioned the group (+1) to follow- choosing to ignore the hanger on in the shape of an infuriating Dug -and led them further down to the outside entrance to the temple. Nexnip Upon hearing the Dug's answer, Nex couldn't admit to even being partially relieved. Now he just felt that they suckered in some fool who couldn't possibly begin to fathom the danger he was in by just being near them. He looked back to Nat nervously. "The man has no clue what we're dealing with." he whispered to her. At that moment, it seemed like the gravitas of their job sunk in. He was in as much danger as this careless fool. The reality that he could very well die doing these missions hit him as if he recognized the consequences for the first time. If he died, his family would be distraught with grief. If he died, Qwella would be devastated. He couldn't put her through that emotional turmoil, not after already doing so with his intial dissapearance. His fur went gray, his eyes widened at the prospect, he found himself clutching the small stone memento around his neck as if out of instinct. He had to make it through all of this, for their sake, he made a promise. "So Cyrus, think we'll ever have the time to visit Tallus?" he asked the Jedi, distracting himself from his thoughts, "I know we're at least a year late to your mother's invitation, but hopefully she's not too cross with us about that." His facial expression appeared normal again, he was smiling, his tone of voice chipper as always. The only giveaway that he was still being bothered by such thoughts was his fur failing to return to its usual coloration.
Temple Entrance "Knowledge! Knowledge can be stolen from you! Those who are following you will seek to destroy it! They don't want you to find the truth!" The voice echoed inside Kirluth's mind, "Independence in morals is no dark secret. It is the true mark of one not to be swayed by the lies that the Light tells!" A passage opens, but it is not the temple door. "It seems you need something more challenging than a simple truth."
