Something that really interests me and would REALLY set this apart from other games, is (hypothetically assuming consoles will comply with the requirements bE is giving them), allowing cross console, split screen play. (Computers are exempt from this... Nobody really does that) Often times, the biggest reason to even play a console game is the immediate company of friends that can play it sitting right next to you - plus it allows even more people access to the game. How this will pan out with characters that can advance isn't exactly for me to decide, but it's still a cool notion to at least think about imo.
I don't think Xbone or PS4 could render EC twice, hell if they want a gtx 660 to be the minimum requirements I don't know how consoles are gonna render it once... and for sure I don't want the game dumbed down because consoles.
If they could, would you still want to if the question wasn't a performance issue? I see 8 votes no and only one response...
I'd be all for this. A lot of the time, I want to play with my RL friends, not some strangers over the internet.
you want to play with 2 character with a single account? and please tell me what should stop a console player to spawn 2 character and place them on a vehicles for drive and shoot the main turret.
Well, if the consoles could render the game twice without the need of a downgrade that may affect my platform of choice, sure why not.
Why not? Other MMORPGS have multiple characters on a single account. I have 17 on my TOR account. What would stop them...how about the difficulty in using 2 controllers at once?
If it's possible yh why not. Is it possible to log on with two accounts on the next gen? I remember you could on the 360 split screen cod? So progression would be the same as it would be two different accounts. But like above this game may push the hardware to the limit so two may be too much to ask for. But if it's possible do it!
but you can't log in more than one time on your TOR account or any mmo account in existence. If you try to log again or you are logged off from the first or you get an error message.
twice the load on the hardware? not feasible. okay idea in theory, I suppose. not too different from split screen in, say, battlefront (you choose different accounts, local of course, but regardless) conceptually. technically, I don't even know how you would initiate x amount of instances from the same client without that having serious account-related implications.
