During the livestream, we had the chance to glimpse upon the loadout menu. One thing we could see was the different preset classes listed for Space Marines. - Tactical - Assault - Devastator - Chaplain - Apothecary - Librarian - Terminator In the Rogue Trader Store, we can acquire the Damned Legionnaire and the Master of Relics. I'd like to know what's special about them... (they do cost 25$ to own) There are iconic "classes" proper to the 4 Chapters we can select. I'll list them and see if any or all of those will be included: Dark Angels: - Interrogator-Chaplain - Deathwing Terminator / Knight - Ravenwing Biker / Land Speeder pilot Space Wolves: - Wolf Guard (Terminator / Veteran) - Wolf Priest (Chaplain+Apothecary) - Rune Priest (Librarian) - Thunderwolf Cavalry (Wolves instead of Bikes) (Vehicle: Leman Russ Exterminator, it's a crime they lost it) Blood Angels: - Sanguinary Guard - Sanguinary Priest - Death Company (Vehicle: Baal Predator and Lucifer Engines in all Rhino chassis) Ultramarines: - Tyranid War Veterans All Chapters confound: - Dreadnought (Blood angels Variants as well) - Techmarine (Iron Priest)
librarian terminator chaplain damned legionarie master of the relic are heroes/elite. class that cost requisition and have a cooldown.
i would imagine that those would be something you could BECOME. if you're assault class and whoop @$$ a ton wouldn't you naturally eventually become a vanguard vet. same with tactical.
Crazy thought , but would that also mean that Space Wolves would have Blood Claws with no Jump Packs instead of regular Assault Marines with Jump Packs standard?
I have been thinking about this too especially as the fact that Black Templars don't follow the Codex based force organisation has been cited as a reason they aren't being included. Note that I am not wanting to start a debate about Black Templars, simply provide a parallel reference.
Chaplains, Librarians, and Terminators are highly important, I believe. Chaplains provide an inspirational morale boost, are better against chaos units in general, and could provide a wide range of aural buffs. So they'd be kinda like the old-fashioned clerics. Librarians are pretty much a given, and would have many sort of 'magical' powers and would essentially cast 'spells' or better yet, warp powers. As for Terminators, that's something that should be earned from many long hours played and should cost a lot more requisition than ordinary items. They are slow, strong, and usually short-ranged but they are a big asset to have on the field. Perhaps this class might even require a limitation as to how many can actually be fielded per race/faction.
Ahhhhhh classes. How I love it! I have dreams of laying down the suppression fire with heavy weaponry soon. Kinda like how they did in the original Predator movie when "Ah-nold" and his team took out a few thousand square feet of forest? Yeah... that's a decent start.
What with the planned Fortifications and vehicles, it would be nice to have an engineer slot for repairing them. Techmarine for SM, Warsmith/Warpsmith for CSM, Mekaniak for Orks, and a Wraithbone singer for Eldar.
