if we want space battles then we must find a way how to implement it in a way that it benefits the main battle on arkhona otherwise it is better to have it as a sperate game and since battle fleet Gothic is in development right now I doubt that EC will be allowed to do space combats :/
I believe two different subjects are being discussed here. Space Battles is one, inter-ship warfare of the 40K universe. But as has been pointed out, this will be covered by the BFG game, so you won't get it in EC. Boarding Actions is the other. That's soldiers/warriors fighting over a ship both inside and across its surface. They've been doing it in the TT for years, and there's even a ruleset for it called Zone Mortalis. http://www.forgeworld.co.uk/Home/Search-Results.html This last one could be implemented in EC, but in a later release for it. I would love to fight in such battles (as portrayed in 'The Crimson Fist' and 'Know No Fear'). As for boarding, there are a few different ways. You could simply dock your vessel/Thunderhawk with the target ship. Then there's Assault Pods, like the Dreadclaw and Kharybdis , which latch onto the ships exterior and bores through the hull to affect entrance. There's Ram Ships (a fave Ork tactic) like the Caestus Assault Ram, designed to bust through hulls and Launch Bay doors to deploy it's infantry. Of course there is the iconic Boarding Torpedo, fired from a ship and designed to bore through a ships hull and deploy the troops within. Finally there's Teleportation, which some Factions (Eldar for instance) favour over other means of Boarding. P.S. The Corvettes in 40K are about a Kilometre in length, with Strike Cruisers being 4 to 6 times that length. So the following is very small.
